I think it would be nice to have separate buttons for gear up and gear down so we can actually break the gear when we move the handle while the gear is in transit. I know the developers have a lot more pressing matters to do, but maybe it fits in the schedule some time.

so long

You can do this with the toggle as well. Also, IIRC there are separate gear up/down commands in the editor, it might be that they are not assigned a command, but that shouldn't be a problem.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

And I would like see also such a option included in-game - as I have now the possibility to map more and more on my controllers and I move more and more to a semi-pit.

But I think it is already possible to to have a gear-up/down command by using a scripting software that sends raw DX arguments (AutoHotkey)

There is a detailed description of all command/arguments in the readme of DCS somewhere.

NO. That would require another button on my joystick. Keep it as it is now or make the separate buttons an option.

Don't worry - no one will take something away - there are already several functions that can be either toggled or controlled separately . e.g. flaps.

There does not appear to be a separate commands, unassigned or not.
