Once in awhile the map is displayed upside down, both in Single Player and Multiplayer.

Is this intentional?

When this occurs it is the same whether it is the map on the pilots left knee or the mapped button to bring it up on the right side monitor screen.

I like using the kneeboard map. It comes in handy.

I have to say that I don't like the current map selection for several reasons:

1). They don't match the features of the in-game terrain well enough to allow precise navigation. They are full of clutter that doesn't apply to the way most of us operate. Major features on the maps are sometimes either not in the game or misrepresented in the game, making navigation difficult.

2) As of the 1.1.2.1 beta, the map scales are so large as to be of little use for precise navigation. Also the maps place occasional extra lines on the route. I made a mission with 4 Clients all flying the same route. When I fly the mission in single player, it super imposes all four versions of the route.

3). I occasionally get what looks like a one inch squared orange icon on the map shaped like a mountain. Not really sure how to describe it.

What I would love to see is the ability for the mission creator to place his own graphic(s) on the kneeboard just as he can with the briefing. Who knows better than the mission designer what information will be most useful to the player? You wouldnt get mark points this way but they are of little use anyway.

It is there - I just can't find the feckin post that describes how to do it.

That is great news! What a very useful feature. I've written a little coop that will now work perfectly if I can do the map as I wish (even if it's only the kneeboard page that currently is filled with useful performance criteria.)

a second note : It is also possible to move the 2D map freely around in the whole screen-render and resize it .

This functions are covered in \DCS World\Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\Cockpit\KNEEBOARD\indicator\definitions.lua

But I didn't played a lot around with it up to now - as I think that ED will change it when P-51D will left beta to be a fully functional export like you do it now with the MFCDs.
