-Rudel- Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 (edited) Wags, I saw your reply so hear it goes :) 1. I'm not sure if you plan on having access panels as an option to open, but if so and it happens to be the .50 Cal panels....they need to be larger and the long panel longer. I hope you can see the difference. The long panel is suppose to extend a little over to the aerilon. 2. I must say, the landing gear doors are almost a dead match to the SIG prints I have. Though there should be a small space near the upper door. I've attached #2 a real photo and screenshot side-by-side. 3. The wing root on the trailing end needs some flare. It can be done by a 2d texture, however, the problem is the part above the flap. It's too straight. 4. Missing rod in the oil cooler shroud. 5. Missing panel lines on the upper oil cooler intake shroud. Including the access panels that need to be moved back on the underside of the wing. I've attached #3 a real photo and screenshot side-by-side. 6. Correction of the wing's leading edge lines at the bend. 7. There's other stuff, but I gotta have fun too. ;) --------------------------------------------------------------------- Tell your artist and modeler to keep up the great work so far. Edited May 10, 2012 by -Rudel- fubar orders 1 https://magnitude-3.com/ https://www.facebook.com/magnitude3llc https://www.youtube.com/@magnitude_3 i9 13900K, 128GB RAM, RTX 4090, Win10Pro, 2 x 2TB SSD, 1 x 15TB SSD U.2 i9 10980XE, 128GB RAM, RTX 3090Ti, Win10 Pro, 2 x 256GB SSD, 4 x 512GB SSD RAID 0, 6 x 4TB HDD RAID 6, 9361-8i RAID Controller i7 4960X, 64GB RAM, GTX Titan X Black, Win10 Pro, 512GB PCIe SSD, 2 x 256GB SSD

-Rudel- Posted May 14, 2012 Author Posted May 14, 2012 Thanks Wags, It's great texturing this aircraft. Beats the old fashion 512 or 1024 of the old days of Jane's F-15 and 18. I have more on the intake shrouding. The one pictured above is of course civilian, but the attached illistration below would be a war-time series. https://magnitude-3.com/ https://www.facebook.com/magnitude3llc https://www.youtube.com/@magnitude_3 i9 13900K, 128GB RAM, RTX 4090, Win10Pro, 2 x 2TB SSD, 1 x 15TB SSD U.2 i9 10980XE, 128GB RAM, RTX 3090Ti, Win10 Pro, 2 x 256GB SSD, 4 x 512GB SSD RAID 0, 6 x 4TB HDD RAID 6, 9361-8i RAID Controller i7 4960X, 64GB RAM, GTX Titan X Black, Win10 Pro, 512GB PCIe SSD, 2 x 256GB SSD
-Rudel- Posted May 24, 2012 Author Posted May 24, 2012 (edited) I think I figured why I can't get my "almost square" side panel near the oil cooler. The geometry towards the middle of the aircraft needs correction. Not for my sake seriously, but for a more accurate model. I attached my example below. In the picture you will see the following: Red lines acting as the location of the verticies now. Green and Yellow lines are a guess-tament based off actual photos. Blue line is where the UV Map is split. The black panel lines are my rendition and presumably incorrect, but this lower area of the model is making it a hard time because items are incorrect. The location of the original template's wing flair's panel line is in the correct location. But, the 3d model's wing flair does not line up with the rear of the canopy frame like in the photo. Along with that the little air scoops need to be positioned reward halfway. Finally, the 1st cowl flap is to long, the rotation point pushed backwards too and the area where the inside meets the external model needs lengthening and more depth inside. I understand a new template was released, meaning suggestions are being read/listened too. However, because we don't have an update *.EDM we can't really tell what changes were made physically. I noticed one new wire frame object near the radiator though. I hope I'm not being a thorn in a bush. Thank you for listening and creating such a great sim. -Rudel- Posted July 3, 2012 Author Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) Wags, I have found a huge dent near the rudder that needs some attention. If corrected, it shouldn't affect the template already released. The tail section at the rudder joint is really off centered too. The vertical stabilizer is canted as well. Very akward looking. MFG62 Joker Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 The tail section at the rudder joint is really off centered too. The vertical stabilizer is canted as well. Very akward looking. The empennage is surely not exactly following the roll-axis of the fuselage. By adjusting the mount of the vertikal part of the empennage a few degrees out of center it naturally comensates for prowash and torque of engine and prop. I don´t have any data on the frame of the pony, but it seems to be correct for me.
-Rudel- Posted July 3, 2012 Author Posted July 3, 2012 I should have been more clear :( The fin and strake (the part added to late model 51Ds' tail) are canted 2-degrees port side... but the modeling of the whole tail is canted itself. The dent on the bottom should not be there, as well as it being canted....And the vertical tail and rudder itself have 0-degrees off-set. The only thing that should be off-set is the front strake/fin https://magnitude-3.com/ https://www.facebook.com/magnitude3llc https://www.youtube.com/@magnitude_3 i9 13900K, 128GB RAM, RTX 4090, Win10Pro, 2 x 2TB SSD, 1 x 15TB SSD U.2 i9 10980XE, 128GB RAM, RTX 3090Ti, Win10 Pro, 2 x 256GB SSD, 4 x 512GB SSD RAID 0, 6 x 4TB HDD RAID 6, 9361-8i RAID Controller i7 4960X, 64GB RAM, GTX Titan X Black, Win10 Pro, 512GB PCIe SSD, 2 x 256GB SSD
-Rudel- Posted July 13, 2012 Author Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) Matt, I noticed the fixes from my first post. Looks good and thank you for looking! Besides the tail section needing a tweek, I've found a rather small error in v1.2.0 edm model's texturing. It's more offset on the left side than right. If your artist hasn't noticed it may or may not cause mis-aligned areas on all his livaries available with the download. -Rudel- Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) Hi again, just in case it was overlooked, the attaching 'pull' wires are missing from the tail wheel doors. See attached :) And was wondering if you might be able to allow us to texture the top side of the tail wheel enclosure instead of the stretching from the side wall. I've attached a screenie of the possible location. -Rudel- Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 I just remembered something. The right main landing gear bay is mirrored from the left side. Is it possible to allow us to texture each side independantly? I only ask, because the center beam is different on both sides. One shows a pressure gauge face, while the other shows the back of it. -Rudel- Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 Hi DGambo, the view from the bottom shows it straight instead of curved like the top view. In my attachment above. -Rudel- Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 "Ali Fish" has brought this up before, and I haven't found a way to fix it utilizing SPEC, NMp, or DIF maps yet.
