Hey gang,

Ok got my new TM Warthog setup yesterday, all is installed and working great so far. I have not started up A-10C yet, but plan to this weekend.

I think I am about as prepared as I can be - I of course have the manual to read up on, the stickies on this forum, and have bookmarked a couple of what appear to be good tutorial threads.

Anyways, I just recently purchased A-10C, and also Black Shark 2. I first had purchased A-10C and installed through Steam due to a sale, at the advice of others here, I deleted the Steam install, downloaded the latest version from here and installed from that, I think to be compatible with DCS World along with Black Shark2 being compatible as well.

So currently I have two seperate whole installs, A-10C, and BS2.

Before I really get going here, should I consider installing this DCS World? I do not know a lot about it, but I think the impression I am getting is it would contain all the terrain available itself, and both these sims would use the same terrain, in effect consolidating them? If I do this, what would be the appropriate procedure, or would I be better just leaving them as is, as two totally seperate installs?

Thanks for any tips on this, thought I would clarify in my mind before really getting going with these sims.

Hey,

If you want to start up your A-10 this weekend, you will probably have to stick with the seperate version, (the version which you have installed now), because neither the A-10 nor the Black Shark has been released for DCS World yet.

But, ED announced a patch, and when it is released you can use the A-10 in DCS World.

Ah ok then, sounds like everything should be left as is for a while - thanks for the info!

No, new versions are released. (less than an hour ago!)

Ah thanks for the heads up TurboHog.

Hmm so that brings me to whether I should go ahead and grab those, they are listed as beta, or just wait for the final releases. I assume I would also need to get DCS World for this? Not sure about the appropriate way to implement the three together - DCS World, A-10C, and BS2...

Hi,

Sorry, for my post above. I didn't expect that the A-10 and BS2 will be included today.

But yeah, you download DCS World and install it, and afterwards you download the modules (which can be found here) and install them.

But it is up to you if you wait until the Beta ends or if you want to use the Beta.

Ok thanks for the info. No problem lol, obviously that news came after your post, or at least around the same time.

I am not against going ahead and running the beta - I wonder though, when it is all final, will the whole modules have to be uninstalled and reinstalled, or will an update make it final? I realize the answer may not be known at this time as well. I am however downloading both modules at this time to have just in case.

Well after reading up more on some other threads, sounds like when it is all final I would be looking at downloading again and doing all clean installs.

That being the case, I think I will just start to learn with my stand alone sims, and then when all is final I will switch over.

Thanks again for all the feedback,
