Shootist Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Hey folks, Toad here. Previously I had snapviews mapped to my stick where I could go in and see left and right MFCDs, Left panel CDU and right panel radios up close and, in particular, input coords on my CDU in that mode. Now the left radios view is not there and the CDU is zoomed in too far. Ya gotta love these patches.:joystick: Asus P8P67Pro, Intel i7, 8gb DDR3, OCZ Vertex3, 120gb SSD, GForce GTX 560, Cooler Master GX850, Win 7, Logi X 3D Pro.
VAOZoky Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 I have same issue. CDU snapview is useless :noexpression:, Radio panel snapview is replaced with another snapview of left MFCD  and ILS/TARS panel snapview is replaced with another snapview of right MFCD  Intel Core i5 2500k @ 4.2Ghz, 8GB Kingston HyperX @1.6GHz, Ati Radeon HD7870 2GB GDDR5, 19' 1440x900 screen
Nate--IRL-- Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Thanks for letting us know. I never use them personally. You can also change the snapviews yourself if you like. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
cichlidfan Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 I haven't looked at the A-10C beta files at all but I would imagine that you could cut/paste the correct views from the SnapViews lua in v1.1.1.1. I would look them over first but it is quite likely to work. cichlidfan Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 (edited) Crap - that is what I should have said :) Thanks cichlidfan. Nate No problem. Btw, I just looked. At a glance snapviews for keys Num3 and Num6 are identical. What I mentioned will definately work. EDIT: I did not have TIR when I started with A-10 so I built my snapview lua by hand editting. At that time I could almost tell what the view looked like just by the numbers. There is a possibility that the mission file you are flying has it own version of the lua in it. Does this still happen in a completely fresh mission? I'll check it out later too when I get a chance. cichlidfan Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 (edited) Just tested it I see it too. Nate Nate. That problem may be because the file SnapViews.lua (which is where the saved views are stored) does not exist in the installation. I don't know if the game is supposed to create it but in A-10 the file already existed even if you had never saved any views. See pics. These are from virgin installs, installed but never actually used. That file is from A-10C, it will break all P-51 views if nothing else goes wrong. I just posted that for another person's request. I had not taken the time to cut and paste a proper one for you. Give me few minutes and I will post it up. EDIT: Here you go. This file was taken from DCS-World v1.1.2.1 and had all of the default snap views for the A-10 (section 11) replaced with the view definitions from the default snap views file from DCS A-10C v1.1.1.1. This should restore the views the way you want them.SnapViewsDefault.lua Edited May 21, 2012 by cichlidfan ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Shootist Posted May 21, 2012 Author Posted May 21, 2012 OK. Now there's the trick question. I think I mentioned I am using Snap to access my CDU and punch in coords. The only downside is having to hold the snap button as I use the mouse to punch. Is there a way of making the snap views hold? At least least 0, 1 and 3 numpad keys? It's been a while since I played with that part. I seem to remember coming up with something but that was almost a year ago. Let me do some digging and see what I can come up with. EDIT: I don't recall whether it always worked this way or not since I switched to TIR but... RCtl + Num0 puts you into snapview mode. The numpad 3 will stay without holding the key. Then hit RCtl + Num0 again to exit snapview mode.
