Nerdwing Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Hello there :) After I've designated or attempted to designate (or even just look at honestly) a target with the targetting pod or the maverick's camera, the point remains designated to the best of the pod's ability even if I break off. This means that I have to take ages to reset the designator to the default position again manually, and try and guide it back into my FoV for use again. Is there any way to automatically initiate some sort of "reset" for the maverick and targeting pod's cameras? Just something to default it to its 12 o'clock position would be spectacular.
Nerdwing Posted May 29, 2012 Author Posted May 29, 2012 Thank you kindly, sir! Thats going to be a huge help. Since I've a cruddy old Logitech Extreme the whole Chinahat thing is counter-intuitive to me since despite my Track IR, I'm instinctively trying to use the hat on my stick to pan camera until I get used to the new setup. :P Will check the keybinding as soon as able!
Rusty_M Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Also, if you only wish to slew a little away from a locked target, TMS up short with the TGP as SOI will switch the TGP between point and area tracking mode. Point seems to want to jump back to the tracked object. The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine! http://www.twitch.tv/rusty_the_robot https://www.youtube.com/user/RustyRobotGaming
Kifaru Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I believe the keyboard short is 'C'. It resets all the sensors to the default position. [sIGPIC]http://img352.imageshack.us/img352/4178/vaafbannerum6copyyj2.gif[/sIGPIC]
Nerdwing Posted May 30, 2012 Author Posted May 30, 2012 Yep, it works like a charm! This has helped a ton. Is there any way to slew the cursor faster aside from manually setting the speed via the Stat page for the TGP, and the (forgot the name, but its the same concept) for Mavericks?

Not to my knowledge, no. You could always do something fancy by setting the SPI from the HUD, then slaving the TGP or Mav to it with China Hat Fwd Long, but that's not really an answer to that question. If I may ask, what's the problem with setting the slew rate from the STAT page? Problems setting up switches on the HOTAS Warthog or similar? Tutorial Here
Nerdwing Posted May 30, 2012 Author Posted May 30, 2012 Absolutely nothing :) It works fine, was just curious if there was an alternative. I'm just now getting to use the TGP to designate an SPI for the Maverick to slew to, thats a fantastic feature! Its great to be able to lob them from so far outside the Maverick's seeker range without having to desperately try and pick up on a unit's signature with slewing.

I think there might be a way: You could try to change horizontal and vertical axis saturation of your slew control.

Alright. :) Now, if you think that's cool... let me give you a gentle nudge in the direction towards markpoints. ;) If you slave a sensor to your current steerpoint, it instantly changes the location it's pointing to when the steerpoint changes. This can be done with Mavs as well. In other words, you can mark several things you want to donate a Free-Bad-Day to, then point and launch Mavs in rapid succession at them. There should be plenty of documentation around for that, though. Happy hunting! I think there might be a way: You could try to change horizontal and vertical axis saturation of your slew control. Okay, you got me. :P One could do that too...
