And yes it'll be a Saitek again for me the next time: more or less bug-free software and a better cable design... ------------------------------------ Hey guys, I have some problems with my G940: The mode switch jumps from 1 to 2 as soon as I increase throttle (only the right btw...) above 80% (where you can feel this little resistance) also some of the buttons won't work above of 80% like T1 on the throttle no matter which mode is set. I can press the button but there is no input. Is anyone experiencing the same problem(s) I have tried both Logitech Gaming Software 5.09 and 5.10 and I'm using FW 1.42 The mode switching with 80%+ throttle can be observed in the normal Logitech Profiler window. The other issues I can observe off course in-game  but also using the "Poswdm" utility from: http://www.wingmanteam.com/latest_software/gadgets.htm I hope you can understand my problem and would be very happy if somebody can confirm anything like this or even gives me a solution. Had the same problem.......opened up the throttle and found 4 wires severed (the space for the cable to fit through to the connectors is very tight). I soldered the wires back together and removed the 2 "keep in place screws" and every thing works again. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
johnnyxtheman Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I also have the same problem with the g940 and I looks inside but see nothing bad because the wire that is going in to the throttle as a black outside and can't see the wires inside it. so how did you find out which cables are broken ? i unscrewed the plate under the 8 buttons so that i can pull the cable out of the throttle head but somehow it is stuck and won't move.
Abburo Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Those cables are extremly thin. Mine have problems with some buttons, both R1 and R2 and the profile switch button. I have replaced all cables and since then everything works just perfect. Is better to not look for the broken one or two only becasue soon rest of them will fail too. Just make a good and final fix at your very first attempt :D. PS: you have to dismount the throttle lever too in order to cut the wires. They are directly connected there. I think I checked their connectivity with a multimeter (but I can't exactly remember) but I'm sure that I've only fixed the damaged ones and today (not even a year after my first post) it's broken again. As like Abburo suggested: you should change all wires OR you're doing the same like me: I'm going to throw this thing, I hate it, mostly its software, it still uses the same layout and the same function like it did 10 years ago when I bought my first joystick: a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro (oh hey: which still cost 50 bucks as it did 10 years ago :puke: ) I think I'm gonna buy a Thrustmaster Wathog, the only thing that holds me back is its lack of a rudder pedal  [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Waiting to build a F/A-18C home-pit... ex - Swiss Air Force Pilatus PC-21 Ground Crew SFM? Ragnarok Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) Ah! Everything is wrong! 1) wires are not damaged 2) pins oxidize 3) oxidative change is altering the voltage 4) voltage change is most sensitive to the non contact potentiometers, as it were r1 and r2 5) mechanical movement of throttle and wire as a bridge across pushing the wire and r2 r2 6) micro-movements wire changes the resistance of the voltage on wire r1 and r2 7) what do you think, why it is happening recuperation, when you remove the pins and spraying them with "contact cleaner"? :) 8 ) interruption in contact wire, when it is damaged, checked so as to isolate the wire and stretch. After stretching, the damaged wire loses contact. This case is not happening. Wire is healthy! * Solution: Buy the damn contact cleaner spray for electronics, pull the pins from the chip of throttle, bursting, cleaned and thanks to me!
