Capnsully Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Hi, I've tried searching but still can't work it out- how do you set the mouse view up so you have smooth panning rather than the jerky default? I read about j2key but can't work out how to do it. Any ideas? Weltensegler Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 have you tried a space mouse or space navigator? Also what sim are you talking about? FC? DCS module? or DCSW? 4790K@4,6Ghz | EVGA Z97 Classified | 32GB @ 2400Mhz | Titan X hydro copper| SSD 850 PRO ____________________________________ Moments in DCS: --> https://www.youtube.com/user/weltensegLA --> WELD's cockpit: --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=92274
ED Team Glowing_Amraam Posted June 20, 2012 ED Team Posted June 20, 2012 "...\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\View" - "View.lua". Open with notepad or notepad++, scroll way down and look for these lines: "ExternalMouseSpeedSlow = 1.0 ExternalMouseSpeedNormal = 5.0 ExternalMouseSpeedFast = 20.0" Basically, just divide them by 2 roughly. My numbers are: ExternalMouseSpeedSlow = 0.5 ExternalMouseSpeedNormal = 1.0 ExternalMouseSpeedFast = 10.0 Plus i can select mouse sens on the mouse itself. :) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgJRhtnqA-67pKmQ3A2GsgA ED youtube channel https://www.facebook.com/glowingamraam My facebook page
PeterP Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 (edited) And/or - attach a analogue joystick to use exclusively for camera movement. Bind the axis of it to the view movement commands: (no need to use Joy2key for this task) BTW : If you plan to use it a lot - you might want to get a device especial made for this task like weltensegler mentioned already: have you tried a space mouse or space navigator? Also what sim are you talking about? FC? DCS module? or DCSW? 3D-Mouse ( there are many different brands and designs - this picture is randomly picked ): Edited June 21, 2012 by PeterP
Sawamura Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 ^ Does that actually make a smooth panning? Never tried FC it with a 3d mouse.
PeterP Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 A normal Mouse = changes the position only to a absolute X/Y grid with a given sensitivity. A axis = changes the sensitivity of movement relative to this x/y Grid. Does that actually make a smooth panning? Yes it does - didn't tried with DCS but I got access to a 3d mouse at work and used it already a lot in Google-Earth. To try how it works : just use a Joystick input for the view like I already wrote above.
