mustsafa Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 FC2 can not detect the throttle on my joystic (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming/joysticks/291)
Nate--IRL-- Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I have that exact joystick - I have no problems. Could you check windows sees the Throttle and also post up a screenshot of the axis assignment in the FC2 options. Also an exact description of what you are doing in game when you attempt to use the throttle Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
mustsafa Posted June 15, 2012 Author Posted June 15, 2012 My joystick works properly on other games and I found the settings on my FC2 for (throttle) to be (joy z)
mustsafa Posted June 15, 2012 Author Posted June 15, 2012 Plus, how could I upload a picture in a thread?
Jona33 Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Click Go advanced when you reply to a post and then click on the paperclip icon on the toolbar. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
cichlidfan Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 It looks detected, since it seems to be assigned. What makes you think it is not detected? Does it not function in game? mustsafa Posted June 16, 2012 Author Posted June 16, 2012 It doesn't function, that's why I called the thread "joystick incompatibility" although our friend Nate--IRL-- says he has the same one and works properly, and yes the engines where on/active during flight.
Nate--IRL-- Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Hmm - that all looks ok - I'm stumped as to why it does not work in game. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
cichlidfan Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I assume then that the pic shows the default setting that were assigned automatically. In that case, it sounds like your config file(s) are corrupt. The first thing to try is to delete the configuration files and let the sim recreate them. I do not have FC installed and I do not recall what the folder structure looks like. In later DCS/ED iterations they would be in here C:\Users\<yourname>\Saved Games\DCS Something\Config\Input. If that does not fix it I would do a clean reinstall. Make sure to delete everything. mustsafa Posted June 16, 2012 Author Posted June 16, 2012 I tried to reinstall the FC2, but it didn't work either. I guess I'm stuck with the page up/down for now, but I truly appreciate your help and everyone else's. See you all in multiplayer, once I get used to the game.
HiJack Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Hmmm, what operating system are we talking about here?
cichlidfan Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I tried to reinstall the FC2, but it didn't work either. I guess I'm stuck with the page up/down for now, but I truly appreciate your help and everyone else's. See you all in multiplayer, once I get used to the game. When you reinstalled, did you 1) delete the entire FC saved games folder and 2) delete anything that might have been left in the install folder? mustsafa Posted June 16, 2012 Author Posted June 16, 2012 I just click uninstall in the FC2 directory
cichlidfan Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I just click uninstall in the FC2 directory If you never cleaned out the saved games folder then you still have the same config files as before. Delete those files and restart the game and try it again. cichlidfan Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Actually, these files don't exist in FC2. Hmm, I have not looked at FC2 in over a year but I would have thought that saved information would have been stored outside of the install folder but perhaps not. However, if FC2s deinstall scripts work like A-10 and BS2 then it leaves behind any files not created by the installer. If the config files were located in the install folder they could well have been left behind when you uninstalled. They have to be kept somewhere. Aside from that, I am out of ideas at the moments. hassata Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I don't have FC2 installed at the moment but I think that folder would be in c/user/documents or whatever. Also, stupid question but maybe they are not assigned to other aircraft and you are not flying the A10? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
HiJack Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 (edited) Mustsafa, please try to install clean in new path "C:\FC2". Or best off all if you got a second disk, "D:\FC2". Do not uninstall anything you have at the moment. PS! Also make sure you have the latest Logitec drivers for the stick installed. http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support/game-gear/291?section=downloads&bit=&osid=14 Edited June 17, 2012 by HiJack
Jona33 Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 This might sound like a stupid question but you are using the A-10A to test this aren't you? Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
