To have sworn an oath to protect your people and country, and then choose to betray them. Even if his country was in a very bad place, and he did not want to participate in any war against his people, I can only begin to imagine how conflicted these defectors must have felt, and the strength required to do something like this. If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.
Kuky Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Well it's simple, no army should ever shoot at its own people, that's not what its for, its to protect its people and preserve countrie's sovereignty... the moment armed forces are used to shoot at its own people it fails this concept and anyone asking for this is the real traitor. hassata Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 ^Correct. On a related note-30 years ago a Syrian Mig landed at the same airbase. The Jordanians claimed the pilot defected for propaganda reasons, but really he had gotten disoriented, low on a fuel, and had to land. Poor guy later shot himself. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
