Hi, yesterday I did my first try with my Saitek X-52 HOTAS, I loaded a profile (X52Lockon.DAT) I got from another website, but most of the buttons seems not work inside Lockon...

What's the correct steps to load a profile (and make it work)? I'm affraid besides loading a profile, I also need to re-assign every button and every combination (pinkie + button) in the Controlers options inside Lockon? Or do I need do clear all the assigned buttons?

please, help me!

I've made a personal profile for lomac:

mode 1 for NAV mode,

mode 2 for Air to Air mode

mode 3 for Air to Ground mode.

If you want to take a look you can sende me a private message with your email and I'll send you.:icon_jook

Yeah, sure I'd like to try your profiles, ... but if you can help, first I need to know what steps I have to do in order to make the profile work:

It's all about loding the .dat with Saitek's SST

OR

Also I'll need to reassign all the buttons (and their combinations) into Lomac?

Thanks, I'll PM you....

If you want to use your saitek button assingments (which you should do) so you have to delete all key assignments in lomac. It's an awful work, I know. But after a quarter of an hour it will be done and you can use the buttons of your own profile.

(I used the X-45 since last week)

I'm totally agree with you.

as an alternative way you can use the default lomac keyboard buttons and then put them in your profile: it works fine!

@junae: if you received my profile the only thing you need to know is loading the profile and print the keyboard map, and then.....studying and studying and practice!!!

Ok, I'll do it, but just one more question: I have to delete ALL the key assignments, I mean: the keyboard and joystick or only the keys from the joystick?

Thanks for the support friends! :)

Why delete lockon key assignments?

Print out the keycommands doc in lockon (Docs) then spend a bit of time programming the required keystrokes into your joystick profile editor. Once all your keystrokes are programmed it's easy to assign them to whatever button on the joystick you want. Dont try to put every command into the joystick, just the ones you need "inflight". I dont mind looking down to the keyboard for some nav & view commands, and have everything I need inflight like all radar, missile systems, defence, everything I need in a hurry programmed. This will fill up your buttons, even using the pinky as a shift.

You will need to program the Axis stuff ingame

Pitch: Axis 1

Roll: Axis 0

Rudder: Rotator 2

Thrust: Axis 2

On the throttle the slider is "slider 0" and the Rotators are "rotator 0 & 1".

I have one mode for the 25T

one for normal BVR/Ground attack

one spare for the helecopter (1.2 Black shark)

I highly recommend making your own profiles as you will learn the profiler program better this way

Back to the point, You dont need to delete the ingame keystrokes, Just program them into your profiler. Works fine.

Not to open a new topic, I have a problem with my X-52:

My hat switch (the one I'm using to look around my cockpit) tends to 'stick' itself to a certain view angle and whatever I do, it just goes back to that angle, so I have to reset it by pressing the "5" key on the Numpad.

Anyone know of this problem and if yes, how can I fix it?

Thanks!

Yeah Kenan, Save up & buy a Track IR. You will love it.

Meanwhile..... Are you using the hat between button B & C?

Does it feel normal ie. does it click when you move it?

I had my 52 pulled apart to fix a dicky rudder pot the other day, If you are mechanically minded you could pull the stick apart & check that the rear of the switch is located in the circuit board correctly & that the trigger spring hasn't jumped out of it's little holder & causing a short.

Only do this if you are confident, if not, dont try it as you may not get the stick back together again.

Good luck
