Hi guys, i've noticed that DCS World takes a while to load, and by that i don't mean 30 minutes, but i'd like to estimate about 8 to 10 minutes for a mission to load, be it training or a mission or instant action, either way i wanted to ask why that would happen, the thing is that Flaming Cliffs 2 takes about 2 minutes to load, again i'm taking about loading the mission, i run both with all settings at HIGH.

Does it have to do with the Higher resolution and High settings? would that make it take longer to load? anything i can try to make it load faster?

Thanks!

Maybe it has something to do with your setup rather than the game itself.

My loading time is certainly not more than 1 or 2 minutes. Nothing unusual here.

I would bet on AV software slowing things down. I had issues with Kapersky, with A-10C, and I excluded my ED install folder to solve the problem.

Check to make sure any anti-virus programs are disabled or at least that DCS is excluded from the programs it scans. Maybe you've already done this, but that was my problem.

Your HD might need to be defragged. Also Anti-virus software should exclude DCS folder or just disable it while you're playing like cichlidfan said.

My suggestion would be to just get an SSD. They are dropping in price now and you can pick up a 128g for about $100 - $120. I just added another 240g Scandisk SSD for $179.

A-10C loads in less than 30 seconds for me, if not less.

thanks for the info guys, i haven't checked the antivirus thing yet, i don't use the browser or internet on my windows partition because of viruses, i always download on my mac to a thumbdrive then instal on windows that way i don't have to worry about an antivirus since i'm not connected to the internet, but i do believe i have mcaffee but i don't know how it's there because i didn't instal it, maybe it came with windows, i'll see about the antivirus advice, also i will be buying an SSD, actually 2, i was waiting for them to go down on price, i figured since my mac has a slow for an SSD i can just make that the main drive on the machine and give windows like 80GB since the DCS world is the only thing i run on the windows partition now days, if anybody else has had that issue let me know, one thing i noticed was that on the options menu there's a slider for tree visibility and so on, one says load radius or something, and i think i have it set to max, does that mean it's preloading all that area on the sim? i gotta restart my mac to use the DCS world so i will do it after work in 4 hours and test all that, if i can figure it out i will post my findings for others if they may have the issue, thanks again guys!

even with all at max, with your PC, should not take more than 5 mins.

Did it always take tkae long to load or it's just recent ?

2 month ago, 1 by 1, all my game started to take longer and longer to load, and someday it was like 15 min to load a game...

Run some tests and my HDD was haing a lot of bad sectors, and near the end it would take up to 45min to load agame LOLL.

I changed it and it's back to normal, maybe you should check yours ;)

Now, OCZ isn't known for their impeccable stability but, I have had 2 OCZ drives. The first (Vertex 2 128g) did end up dying 2 years after I bought it, but they sent me a brand new Agility 3 128g for free.

Anyway, Agility 3 90gb for $70. Not a terrible investment. That's Win7 and one game.

Hey Guys, i took it off antivirus and tested it and it took 2 minutes to load average, i loaded it a few things and each time it was about 2 minutes, FC2 still takes about 30 seconds to load on my computer so i gotta test a bit more to see if there's anything else that makes it load slower than FC2 i'm assuming it's just the way it is, more complex data loading, thank you for the suggestions!

Loading a standard mission from my SSD takes about 20 s. It's one hell of an upgrade, especially if you have a fast PC in other regards.

I can't speak about FC2 but that sounds about right for A-10 on a mechanical disk. It's been quite a while since I ran it on one.

I am having the same issue with extremely long load times with DCS World and the A10 module. I am running it on a 240gb SSD and it takes about 3 - 4 minutes to load any mission. I have can run the 1.1.1.1 version of A10 on the same mission and it loads in about 1 - 2 minutes max. My system specs are Intel I7 930 at 3.78, MSI HD6970, 12GB ram, 240 SSD, 720G HDD raid 0, and Win 7 64. Catalyst drivers used have been both 12.6 and 12.7. Anone have any suggestions? I re-installed numerous times, dis-abled anti virus software, re-installed both directx and c++ :( PLease help!
