Hi, I'm flying FC 2.0

My favourite aircraft is Su-25A/T and i'm now having trouble with ground target specify with Shkval targeting system.

 

I dubiously see enemy ground vehicles at a distance of under 20km over Shkval TV monitor and specify them clearly at under 9.9km, at this range i'm always in enemy' mobile SAM range of fire :cry:

 

Does anyone here know how to increase visible range in LOFC 2.0 ? :doh:

 

/ with Teka's Vehicles LOD Mod installed on FC 1.12 i can specify ground forces or battle ships at over 70km from altitude of 5.000m

The Shkval has fixed magnification. It is a limitation of the aircraft, there's nothing you can do about it AFAIK.

The solution is change the value of FogParagram2 from 1.1 to 0 in the graphicserver.cfg file...

 

Like:

- you can see at great distance with fair visibility, like in the real life.

- no more transparent buildins or units...

 

Dislike:

-You cannot connect with another people without this modification.

 

Save the file, make the change and fly alone. When you need to fly in coop with other people you can restore de old file and rename the new one...

So, what's the advantage of the Su-25T in LOFC 2.0 ?

 

As in LOFC 1.12 i can find out enemy ground forces or surface battle ships on the sea at over 50-70km from high altitude, determine the number of ground vehicles and preparing for attack while getting closer

 

In LOFC 2.0 as GGTharos said the visible range over Shkval system is limited

How can i attack surface-to-air mobile systems with its firing range from 12-15km ? their defensive ability is better than the range of Su-25T's missiles

You can't, unless you use anti-radar missiles.

Some of ground forces such as Russian's TOR-M1 mobile SAM system is not listed as a radar target for using anti-radiation missile Kh-58 though this vehicle has tracking & fire radar

Because Kh-58 is not capable of processing the signal from those radars.

In FC2.0, Kh-58U can be used against the TOR. :thumbup:

So is that an incorrect implementation of the Kh-58U RIPTIDE?

Against specifically TOR's? I have no idea. They were used in 2008, I read. Against what I don't know, but some malfunctioned also and their wreckages were found.

yesterday night i've defeated the Strela-10M3 low-altitute mobile SAM with Vikhr from distance over 13km by using free-release mode, i'll try with TOR-M1 later

 

It's not easy to determine the shape of 9K35 Strela among other ground vehicles from high altitude

You'll get used to it. You'll be able to ID it with a bit of practice you'll recognise straight away. Get killed enough times by them and it will come to you. :thumbup:
