Hello,

 

I am new to this forum however I have been playing lock on and its sister games since they were distributed by Ubisoft! Anyways I finally got my hands on D.C.S Warthog I am doing my best to learn but can tell im gonna be spending a lot of time searching and posting questions. Anyways I apologize if this has been covered and it most likely has been. I have no idea what program I am supposed to use to open the 1.8 GB file in the latest D.C.S Warthog patch. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. It shows that it is a bin file and I unfortunately have no idea what that is! Thanks again and I look forward to coming to this site to learn all that I can about the coolest game/sim every made.:thumbup:

You're missing the other three bin files and the .exe

 

Put them in one folder and run the exe. It actually comes to around 6gb.

Do not patch. Download the entire full version v1.1.1.1 from here.

I am very confused now as the mirror that I downloaded it from offered me only two files. One was approx. 1.8 gigs and the other was like 2mb. Uhhh confusion confusion. Thank you for your replies please help.

Your license will work fine. I don't recommend patching for two reasons, 1) you did not say what version you have and patches are sequential not inclusive and 2) A-10 does not always patch properly.

 

Btw, I, and I am sure others, would be very curious as to the address of the 'mirror' that you downloaded from. The link I gave you is the official download site for Eagle Dynamics.

I got it from the ED website it was the first U.S.A mirror. Thank you for your help! So do I uninstall the current copy I have or just replace it with the new copy. I suppose I could just experiment however I am curious... Is it going to ask me for authorization? I was surprised when I clicked the link and it asked me if I wanted to save the file as if it was going to download had I chosen too. Does it automatically detect my current installation and license? Is that why it doesn't ask for payment before downloading? Thank you all for you help I am not the most computer savvy however knowing that this Simulator exists and me not being able to play it to its max capacity/potential will be a constant burden on my life.

Also while im here without starting a new thread. I just got the Hotas warthog from thrust master. Can somebody please tell me the meaning of Hotas and china hat!!!!???? I cant find anything about it in the pdf manual.

Not sure if that is what you asked about, but

* HOTAS stands for "Hands On Throttle And Stick"

* the China hat is the red switch on the right side of the right throttle.
