Ramstein Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I keep downloading 'DCS_World_en_1.2.0.63205.exe' and keep getting 'source file is corrupted' when I try to run it,, I have turned off my Norton anti-virus (Norton 360), I have run the checksum checker, yet, it always stops and says it's corrupted. I have downloaded it from several links posted on the official page. I think I had this problem in the past and somehow got past it,,, but now I do not know what is wrong.. I have also searched this form and read every other response from past issues from other users, and nothing they suggested has worked.. Any ideas? Thank you, ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR
JG14_Smil Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Try getting properties and Unblocking the file. DL it on another computer and burn it to disk is another option.
Ramstein Posted July 10, 2012 Author Posted July 10, 2012 I think I found the problem, the 2nd file.. DCS_World_en_1.2.0.63205-1.bin maybe corrupt.. the checksum was bad.. I am re-downloading it.. Puddlemonkey Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I think I found the problem, the 2nd file.. DCS_World_en_1.2.0.63205-1.bin maybe corrupt.. the checksum was bad.. I am re-downloading it.. Also, if that doesn't do it, I've had problems where IE corrupts the file and each time I try to download a new copy, it simply replaces the saved file with a cached corrupt copy. So try deleting the saved file and internet history before retrying your download.

I'm doing backups before I install so won't know how mine goes till that's done:D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] AMP WIZARD "Forest Gumble" "When the air becomes electric....It's like a box of chocolates":captain: Windows 11 Pro 64 bit | Intel Alder Lake i7 12700KF | Asus Prime Z690M Plus D4 | CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR4 3200 | EVGA GTX 1070 SC @1594MHz/4000 MHz 8GB | 1x42" Multi Touch Screen and 1x27" 4k widescreen | Saitek x52 Pro |
Ramstein Posted July 11, 2012 Author Posted July 11, 2012 I dropped my torrent upload speed from unlimited to 50 k/sec or less and my download speed jump way, way up , in torrent download.. after I dropped my upload speed my download speed dropped to about 1.7 m /sec. At least I spent several hours helping seed the torrent,, at the expense of a very long download time today.. after I put a cap on my upload speed my download speed was a roacket and only tooka few minutes, the torrents were not corrupt, as the direct downloads were.. :smilewink: ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR
Brainspiller Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Torrent broken Hello everyone, I am completely new to DCS and I just stumbled into this simulation via a Steam christmas sale :-) Anyway, I wanted to install DCS World today and downloaded all files via Bittorrent. When I try to install the game, I get a bad file at somewhat around 80% of the install. Since I read that the HTTP-files may also be corrupted, I thought it would be better to check here before I download another 6GB of junk. Can someone please confirm that there is a Problem with the files, or not. If there is a problem it would be nice by ED to fix this issue and give us a quick note when everything is alright again.
Brainspiller Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 (edited) Downloaded from FTP Germany and had no problems Thanks, I am going to try that one. BTW, some of the FTP 4 for Germany seems to be down completely. FTP 5 works. UPDATE: The FTP-Download also doesnt work! At least I can give some more information. It says the file Bazar/Terrain/Onlay/Onlay_TownsAll.sup3 is damaged. Edited March 16, 2013 by Brainspiller
kobac Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 I have the same problem with recent updates (DCS_World_1.2.10.32275) via torrent. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Everything is possible ...
sobek Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 You could try to ignore that file, then when the installation is complete, run a repair on that install. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
kobac Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 (edited) Yes I did just that, but doesn't help. Then I downloaded files from ftp servers and from there again appear errors when trying to install. In addition, I stopped torrent and did force re-check and no errors in downloading. I checked condition of my HDD, and no errors on it. I don't know what to do further. This is a problem I haven't so far encountered. kobac Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 A few days ago I had two - three sudden power failure (blackout) and PC would not then be connected via UPS, maybe it's somehow damaged Win7 so it shows that files are corrupted. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Everything is possible ...
