Daniboo Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Hey I just bought DCS A-10 from steam, and installed it, but I have no sound. Anyone got the same problem?
Rusty_M Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Did you install the steam version? You probably picked a bad time to post that, as there's just been a major update released and people's attentions are all over the place. I'd suggest going to this page and downloading DCS World http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?ProductId=21&end_pos=137&scr=product&lang=en the torrent frequently works best. Then go to this page and download the A10 module http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=8&end_pos=136&lang=en You can activate this with the key you have received from Steam, and you'll be running the most up-to-date version, and be able to have much more options if you like to play online. Daniboo Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 Ok. I did as you said, but I stilld don't have any sound...
Rusty_M Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 ^ what he said^ or in short, a modularisation of DCS products to ensure cross-compatibility of sims. (currently A-10, Black Shark 2, P51-D (beta), Combined Arms (Beta) There are third party modules in development too. World itself is free. Additional modules may be purchased separately. Rusty_M Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Sorry for the double post: Still no sound? Is this no sound at all, or no training speech? Have you installed the latest DirectX9? Do you have sound issues with other games? Have you checked that your speakers are hooked up to what windows sees as your default audio device? The world is going mad. Me? Daniboo Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 Umh, that reminds me... Right nowI feel abit stupid... When I was done installing the game from Steam, it asked if I wanted to install the DirectX9 or what it said, but I have 11, should I install it anyways? and the other pack that it asked for?
MTFDarkEagle Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Yes, install both. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
Hamblue Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 You shouldn't have to install directx9. if you have 11 it should cover anything that comes before it. Try sound properties in windows. right click on the little speaker on the bottom right of your screen. Asus Sabertooth P67 Motherboard 2600k CPU, 16 gig DDR3, 1600. Samsung 830, 256 gig hard drive, GTX780 Video Card, Warthog Hotas, Razer Mamba mouse. Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals. Trackir 5, Verizon FIOS 25Meg Up/Down

Just because you have 11 does not mean 9 isn't used and doesn't need updating. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread

Daniboo Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 (edited) Okay! Works ! :D thank you guys :D Edited July 12, 2012 by Daniboo
Daniboo Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 One more question, on DCS black shark, I missed click a button once, and that made the mouse like the camera viewer, like instead of using 8, 4,6, etc.. what do I click to manage that in A-10 warthog?
Rusty_M Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 I believe that no longer works in BS2 or in Warthog. IIRC it was actually unintended (or was I thinking of something else that was technically a bug, but people liked it?) The world is going mad. Me? Daniboo Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 Oh.. well, that sucks, the bug was good... so theres no way to make smooth viewing except the TrackIR?

Rusty_M Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Sorry I must have been thinking of something else. Maybe the mode where the mouse would move the view, but also retain it's switch-clicking ability. I don't know. I should shut up. The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine! http://www.twitch.tv/rusty_the_robot https://www.youtube.com/user/RustyRobotGaming
