Ironhand Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Same or similar issue. Win 7 64-bit. Installed the Su-25T training files and DCS World now won't load past 68%. Installed the Hotfix. Still no joy. HiJack Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Did you all install by right clicking the installation files and select "Install as Administrator" (for both the SIM and training) ? (HJ)
Ironhand Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Did you all install by right clicking the installation files and select "Install as Administrator" (for both the SIM and training) ? (HJ) Yes. Plus UAC is OFF and I never install anything into the Programs folder. DCS is on a completely separate drive. Everything was working fine. Should have known better than to mess with it and just left it alone. HiJack Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Hmm. Can you go back to a Win 7 "restore point" ? That works every time for me, I always create a manual restore point befor any installation, saves me a lot with all this buggy betas. (HJ)
HiJack Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Just to test Ironhand, can you rename the DCS folder under Saved Games and try to start the SIM again? Don't delete it as you can recover any joystick settings and mission you have made. (HJ)

Hoping to be able to spend a few hours this afternoon. Thanks again. I'm going to have to learn my way around DCS's file structure, I see. theroc44 Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 I downloaded the hofix for the Su-25 and the Ka-50. But alil confused as to where i need to unzip the files to. It says "DCS World release has a annoying bug, there are CTD with training video Su-25T and Ka-50. For those who has need in such training video can unzip all files in the root of game folder." Im not sure if i just unzip in the main folder unde DCS world or another more specific folder. Any help would be most apperciated. I dont want to unzip it to the wrong location and mess up a working game.

I dont want to unzip it to the wrong location and mess up a working game. That would be the main folder. The files should be set in their subfolders so that everything unpacks where it belongs. If in doubt, unpack the ZIP file into an empty folder and, then, go in and take a look at what you get. I bet you'll see folders and subfolders that correspond to what you have in your installation.
