Hamblue Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Yesterday I was practicing using marks on the TAD after watching a couple of videos. One thing not covered on them was un-marking. While trying to figure it out I wound up with over a dozen marks. So the obvious question. How do you un-mark? Thanks Asus Sabertooth P67 Motherboard 2600k CPU, 16 gig DDR3, 1600. Samsung 830, 256 gig hard drive, GTX780 Video Card, Warthog Hotas, Razer Mamba mouse. Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals. Trackir 5, Verizon FIOS 25Meg Up/Down
GGTharos Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 You can't. Marks cannot be deleted, only re-used. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
skouras Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 correct not possible to delete them just use them again for new spots and targets [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]W10(64bit)Asus Rog Strix Z370-F - i7 8700K - Dark Rock Pro 4 - 16 giga ram Corsair vengeance 3000 - MSI RTX 2070 Super - Asus Rog Phobeus soundcard - Z906 Surround speaker - Track ir5 - HOTAS Warthog
Hamblue Posted July 22, 2012 Author Posted July 22, 2012 Thanks. Can they be moved? Say I use a couple for a mission, then return to re-arm/fuel. Should I reset everything to start over or can they be re-located for the next mssion? Asus Sabertooth P67 Motherboard 2600k CPU, 16 gig DDR3, 1600. GGTharos Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Markpoints are over-written as you set them. Ie. if you set MP A, it will remain as is until you use up enough MPs to get back to A. Revelation Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 When you land for fuel and ammo, you can power off your CDU, when you re-start it and re-align your INS/NAV system your Markpoints will be gone. Recommend re-using MP unless you know you need to come back to a certain spot later. i.e an important bridge, or AA cluster until they all are dead. GGTharos Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 I think you can also change MP databases, but I haven't tried doing so myself. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Nav page - DTS upload But then you're also deleting any waypoints or flightplans that were not originally included in the mission data. Edited July 22, 2012 by TurboHog 'Frett'
Hamblue Posted July 22, 2012 Author Posted July 22, 2012 I'll try a couple of those ideas. I'm surprised they overlooked it. Sometimes you can accidentally click on the wrong area. Unassigning would be nice but we go to war with what we have. :joystick: Asus Sabertooth P67 Motherboard 2600k CPU, 16 gig DDR3, 1600. Unassigning would be nice but we go to war with what we have. :joystick: I don't think it's an overlook. I was told online by a pilot that they are stored/no 'delete/override button' so that the coordinates marked can be reviewed by 'upper management' post combat mission via air recon/satellite match of stored mark points/etc to evaluate where weapons were released for further enemy BDA/verify civilian casualties caused/worst case scenario friendly fire evaluation (God forbid). This is what I was told. I'm not in the armed forces so I don't know if this is accurate, but makes sense if so...accountability check I guess. Edited July 22, 2012 by Izoul123
