MasterZelgadis Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Hi, is there any way I can create a burning aircraft wreck / an area burning? I want to create a crash site, but the simple "unit as dead" placement looks a bit..unspectacular "Sieh nur, wie majestätisch du durch die Luft segelst. Wie ein Adler. However, the fire will only burn for a few mins. 1 Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility. MasterZelgadis Posted July 29, 2012 Author Posted July 29, 2012 Yes, already tried that. after a short time the fire burns out. No chance to create a black smoke effect via script? "Sieh nur, wie majestätisch du durch die Luft segelst. Wie ein Adler. Ein fetter Adler." http://www.space-view.net

mwd2 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 What is, if you use the better Fire and Smoke Mod http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=89157 Playing: DCS World Intel i7-13700KF, 64GB DDR5 @5600MHz, RTX 4080 ZOTAC Trinity, WIN 11 64Bit Prof. Squadron "Serious Uglies" / Discord-Server: https://discord.gg/2WccwBh Ghost0815
MasterZelgadis Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 Don't want to use mods, only vanilla version ;) "Sieh nur, wie majestätisch du durch die Luft segelst. Wie ein Adler. Ein fetter Adler." http://www.space-view.net

MasterZelgadis Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 (edited) No, I thought about using script objects already implemented in the vanilla version, something like (pseudocode) CreateSmoke(Zone) edit: If I use a mod, all clients flying my mission must also have the mod installed, right? Megagoth1702 Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Yep. If you rely on a visual mod to do some effects in your mission your clients need the mod as well. Highwayman-Ed Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 (edited) How about placing the static unit and some of the small static structures nearby, then place a trigger to blow one of them up with a small explosion either on time or when the player enters a trigger area and increments a flag. Then do the same for each of the other small structures on a timer until a certain condition is met. It's messy as hell, but it might achieve what you're looking for. not proper syntax, working off the top of my head here: Player in Zone A, Flag 1 = True + Explode unit#1 Time since Flag 1 = 300, Explode Unit#2 Time since Flag 1 = 600, Explode Unit#3 Time since Flag 1 = 900, Explode Unit#4 Time since Flag 1 = 1200, Explode Unit#5 Edited August 6, 2012 by Highwayman-Ed Intel i9-9900KF @5.2GHz MSI Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon 32GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR3200 RAM MSI RTX 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio 40" Panasonic TH-40DX600U @ 4K Pimax Vision 8K Plus / Oculus Rift CV1 / HTC Vive Gametrix JetSeat with SimShaker Windows 10 64 Bit Home Edition [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
MasterZelgadis Posted August 18, 2012 Author Posted August 18, 2012 I solved it now by placing some SAM vehicles in the area. Shortly after mission start I blow the whole area up in a big explosion, which leaves a noticeable "impact area" on the ground "Sieh nur, wie majestätisch du durch die Luft segelst. Wie ein Adler.
