Hi guys, just wondering if anyone's using Nvidia Surround while running Helios on a 4th screen?

I'm aware SoftTH works well with multi monitor Helios setups, although despite all the great advice from PeterP and all the posts I read on it, I'm still confused to buggery. ;)

Main thing putting me off SoftTH is losing the ability to run BF3 in 5760 x 1080 and it's a DX11 game.

Don't really want to keep changing my graphic settings, depending on the game I'm playing.

So as the GTX 680 supports 4 screens was wondering if this will work and allow me to run my 5760 x 1080 view and with a full Helios profile running on the 4th monitor underneath.

3 x monitors will be LG w2361 at 1920 x 1080 with the 4th being an Acer 231 touchscreen running at 1920 x 1080

I'm guessing as all the Res matches it should be ok, or should I just attack my fears and learn to use SoftTH and just turn on surround when I want to run DX11 games.

Sorry PeterP, I know you must be getting bloody frustrated with me asking roughly the same questions time and again. I do apologise. I do understand SofTH is great, but still not sure if I need it now im not adding another card and have moved to Nvidia, since my GTX 680 will run all 4 monitors at the same res. Dosnt surround to the same job?

Fingers crossed I don't frustrate you to much. :)

no problem at all! I'm also curious- and I also believe that nothing is set in stone!

:D

My answer:

no.

(? ... really... ?: I'm nor 100% sure , but I never heard/read of someone)

Dear Reader/NVidea User - Please correct me if I'm wrong:

Nvidia-Surround only works with three equal screen/pixel sized monitors...(I even read their FAQ's again- just to be sure)

How this should work for a home-pit together with Helios?

That clearly tells me that you only read the thread where people ask how to use SoftTH before they tried out it them self....

Only 5% of them ever came back because they didn't read the read-me....and sprad out their problems because their are frustrated...

Short:

You only "learn" how to use this tool be using it.

yoda.gifDo. Or do not! There is no 'try'

The 4th monitor is an auxillary it doesn't need to be the same spec as the 3 for surround and cannot be incorporated into the surround ( unless you use some other thing like softTH) It can be used for say windows desktop so you can see teamspeak etc. Should be able to run helios ok on it and keep the performance of your 3 monitor surround in fullscreen.
