ED Team Chizh Posted October 26, 2005 ED Team Posted October 26, 2005 EWR working in long wave 30-300 MHz (A band in US classification) therefore ARM can't precisely aiming to it. It's pure physical limitation. Единственный урок, который можно извлечь из истории, состоит в том, что люди не извлекают из истории никаких уроков. (С) Джордж Бернард Шоу
GGTharos Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Yep ... and if Chizh did not make it clear enough, basically the problem is that the wavelength is so long that it is impossible for the missile to actually know where exactly it is coming from. It's like your target is a completely featureless building and you're really close to it so you can't even see the whole building - and you have to hit a specific spot to do any damage, but there's no way to tell where this spot is. tomcat1974 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 EWR aren't usually statical? I mean why waste a ARM on them when a dumb bomb can do the trick ?
Gazehound Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 EWR aren't usually statical? I mean why waste a ARM on them when a dumb bomb can do the trick ? An ewr just sat unguarded is not likely...so you dont have to fly thru an enemy cap/aa area. VVS504 Red Hammers
