D-Scythe Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 whats the problem  Also, am I right in that the info panel at the bottom displays Indicated Airspeed? True airspeed, I believe. Mizzy, it's more of an AI problem - all AI aircraft typically follow the same profile for whatever they are doing (i.e. both an F-5 and a MiG-25 will decelerate to 700 kmph, but the F-5 may get there first). You technically can get a Foxbat to Mach 2 - hope into an F-15C, put the Foxbat 10 miles off your six, then just afterburn to Mach 2. The Foxbat will try to follow you to shoot you down.
Guest IguanaKing Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Does anybody have a performance graph for the MiG-25? If the speed portion is TAS, at 38,559 feet, I think that MiG has DEFINITELY fallen off the low end of "dead-man's corner". I could be wrong though. :D
EvilBivol-1 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 True airspeed, I believe. Yeap, sure is. Sorry. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. The Parable of Jane's A-10 Forum Rules
SwingKid Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 LMAO!! She's so cute . . . :D maybe ED says that every time you report a bug? :p Umm, pardon me if I'm being stupid, but that screenshot is not showing data in imperial numbers? опля -SK

Sleek Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Yep my settings are all imperial, can't work out metric and I failed my maths 'O' Level. I will try some other missions but I have tried missions where the Foxbat fly really high (just like I read about them) but they can't go supersonic :( A real dissapointment....but I can live with it I supposed ;) Mizzy me think's all that new paintwork on ur mig is slowing it down :) Be Good..Be Strong..:drink: ;)
Mizzy Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 me think's all that new paintwork on ur mig is slowing it down :) Yeah its groovy isn't it :D Still can't get the Fox to go supersonic though, I know I am doing something wrong but no idea what yet. I am back at work next week so only a few more days left with time on my hands to try :( Mizzy.
GGTharos Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Set it at 65000' altitude and speed to 1200kts. It'll do it. Just make sure waypoints - all of them, including 0, reflect that altitude and speed. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Gazehound Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Ah yes, this seems to work thank very much, I wonder what FCs virtual altitude ceiling is? Mizzy. Its different for each plane. Put in 100000000 or something in the editor and it will automatically select that planes ceiling (same w/ speed). I suppose foxhounds can go highest or maybe RBTs. VVS504 Red Hammers
KILSEK Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Hi all and Mizzy. Ah yes, this seems to work thank very much, I wonder what FCs virtual altitude ceiling is? Mizzy. It is 82,020 ft. I used the f11 key and that is the highest I can go. -KILSEK

Cobra360 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Just one piece of info I have. IRL the MiG-25P cannot reach 70,000ft when armed with 4 R-40 missiles. The MiG-25P Foxbat A is also limited to M2.5 to prevent the engines from accelerating out of control. But the MiG-25s are known to have exceeded Mach 3 a number of time to escape Israeli SAMs. But after doing this the engines are useless and have to be scrapped. However the MiG-25RB can achieve M2.83 for five minutes without damaging the engines. The official ceilling for the MiG-25PDS is 67,915ft (20,700m). And time to achieve 20,000m (65,615) is 8 mins 54 secs.
