Quirkitized Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 I'll put it this way. I have an i5-3570k @ 4.5ghz, 8gb ddr @ 2000, two 3gb gtx 580s. And I'd get a 690.
Quirkitized Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 SLI , you have to wait for the driver writer to optimise for your game No SLI , you just run the game 690 The 690 is a dual-gpu SLI card, so either the 690 or 580s would have this issue. I still vote for the 690.
Slayer Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I really want to get a 690 but a little voice is telling me that in a few months the GK110 is going to come out and it will be about 25% faster than a 680GTX IE- very close to the performance of a 690 @ $1000.00 The thing is if you wait too long to get a 690 they will be gone and you will only find used ones with no warranty. I almost bought a 590 but they went out of stock and were discontinued. When I drop that much dough on a card I'm NOT getting one without a warranty , so that idea died....
