Razor5-1 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 The Buttkicker will rattle your chair! and you along with it :) . But your not going to get if for less than £50!
Ali Fish Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 is there any hint of stall mechanics at all with that but-kicker ? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
PeterP Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 (edited) No - not really...Means: There is so much shaking going on all the time that I can't really tell if there is a lot more that is caused by the stall. But what I can feel is the FFB at my Stick - Lock at the virtual-stick/diamond how my stick starts to vibrate when the stall begins: Edited August 16, 2012 by PeterP
Razor5-1 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 With the buttkicker, i'v heard that it works even when your just idling on the ground, you'll feel a light rumble!
Echo38 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 (edited) Echo38, you seem to be happy with optional sounds for buffeting/stall warning so I don't disagree with you on that at all I disagree in that I'd prefer them to include some well thought out "less real" effects to replace effects we can't actually experience in a simulation. You got it backwards, actually--I do not want an option to turn off realistic sounds--any real sounds (as you would hear them in a real P-51) should be in the sim, period. I can't think of a single legitimate reason why anyone would want to turn off a sound in the sim that you would hear in a real P-51; indeed, the only reason I can imagine is intent to cheat (e.g. trying to make your own sounds quiet so you can unrealistically hear other aircraft). So, any sound that you would hear in a real P-51, ought to be there in the sim, and I can't think of any good argument for having an option to disable these. It's your less-than-real aids which I feel should be included as options. I don't care what kind of sounds, visuals, text, and other bells & whistles you have on your program (to give you the information you could get in a real P-51 by touch, smell, etc.), as long as I can turn them off and have the max fidelity version with only the real sounds & sights. Again, I'm fully aware (and have been for years) that a max fidelity P.C. simulation ends up being harder-than-reality in some areas, which is why I'm in favor of there being optional less-than-realistic aids for those who don't want harder-than-real, even though I myself would rather go with harder-than-real than with something that wouldn't be in the real aircraft (e.g. a screen shake while stalling). MegOhm_SD Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 (edited) With the buttkicker, i'v heard that it works even when your just idling on the ground, you'll feel a light rumble! I don't have the buttkicker .....but I do have a chair(s) that have two speakers and a subwoofer in the back...they also have a vibration mode that does so at your back and butt when the subwoofer kicks in.... the sound is transmitted wirelessly.. So I do feel the sounds... especially with the sound mod which has it's pluses and minuses... Whether realistic or not...I can feel the buffetting in the P51 when I depart...which isn't always intentional!!!
