Overly confusing patch and update process, need help please

I'm not new at all to the simulator world, in fact i go all the way back to the days of JANES flight simulators and was so glad to see that one company still exist and creates sims and not shoot em up games.

 

My problem is that i purchased this game on sale in our PX and can not for the life of me get it to update to anything. It is stand a lone version and nothing to do with dcs world.

I have searched a ton of facts to upgrading from the stock boxed version to version 1.1.1.1 however they all talk about a FULL download of the 1.1.1.1 version and I can not find it. The link on all the sites link back to the DCS main page and the new version 1.2 (or the one for DCS world) The only sites i have found with 1.1.1.1 talk about it being a 4 part download but only have one part.

 

So i tried the hard way

Started boxed version

1.5 to 1.6 and restart

but after download the game wont open or function at all other then the main menu.

Uninstall everything and try again

1.5 to 1.6 restart but do NOT open sim

and continue in order of patches

1.7 - 1.8 - 1.9 - 1.1

Game no longer works at all.

 

I need help as i understand that a ton of bugs have been worked out from the stock store version to the newest 1.1.1.1 version now.

 

Please help me if at all possible.

 

Also DCS if yor listening please bring me my APACHE AH-64D in simulator form, I so miss the good old janes longbow heli sims.

Also be aware that 1.1.1.1 is the final stand alone version, and will not be updated. Everything has transitioned to DCS World and all updates will go there.

DCS World is a free download, and your serial number for the stand alone will work for the A10C module for world. If you have already installed the stand alone version, World won't even ask for your serial number. You can also have both installed and they will not interfere with each other.

I keep hearing of a number of issues with the current 1.2 build, so you may want to wait until the next release before installing World, if you do.

That said, my Squadron is currently flying 1.1.1.1 with few issues and I see no problem with staying with 1.1 at this point.

Just do a download of world and the module you purchased (A-10, Ka-50 etc) Then do an install as usual.

Don't try to do an install from disk and patch.

I'm gonna take a stab at this even though I know the Question is answered in the above replies. One of us should be someone you can understand.

 

 

OK William. The only thing you need out of the boxed version is the PRODUCT KEY.

 

 

Now download A10C Warthog FULL Version 1.1.1.1 from http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=25&end_pos=135&lang=en

 

 

Uninstall all your previous attempts at installing A10 and then install this A10 Ver 1.1.1.1 FULL . Activate it with your PRODUCT KEY.

 

 

We'll talk about DCS World after you get this going. Hope this makes sense.
