Thank you .. ordered :)

As I understood you, the monitors will be connected directly to the pc and the exports will be exported to this area than.

Maybe you can show us your monitor.lua ....

Yes as linked by linden, it's just another export just like your MFCD's :)

OT:

LED's and LED holders ordered. Head buzzing with cockpit building :D

Dear David

today arrived my monitors from the peoples republic ... hell .. UPS asked for customs fees nearly the ammount I have paid for the 2 screens :(

However ....

Can you describe how to mount and install the monitors ? The larger one has a vga-plug, the smaller one only video chinch.

How to setup the monitor.lua / helios ... or whatever.

I am looking forward for the panels. But have no idea how to get the monitors to work. There is also no manual for the monitors .. no idea which voltage they need.

Would be nice to read some kind of instructions ... Thanks

Tom

The lcd´s are made so you will put them between the backplate and in the middle plate, when you see the panels you will for sure see it how its done.

I have only tested the lcd´s whit PeterP´s files:

http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/208103/

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=89282

Im not good at this but after reading PeterP´s thread and used his files i made them work.

As the panels will take some time you can try this files and im sure you will make them work.

You will need a card that has "S video out" for the 4" or you can try a converter, Svideo to vga, i have not try a converter and to not know if it works.

Maby someone here knows how it works.?

For power i use 12v=2a, be sure that the + and - are the same as the lcd plug.

Not mutch of instructions but this is how i did it, if you cant make the lcd´s work in the game please let me know and i can try to make a monitor.lua for you.

Anybody an idea how to convert DVI or HDMI to a single VGA chinch connector ?!

I have a GFX 680 with 2 DVI and 2 HDMI connectors. I use for my 2 monitors the DVI connectors.

I ordered one DVI to VGA connector for the smaller china-monitor.

But there are no active converter/adapters out for connecting the larger monitor with only chinch vga input.

I have also a buid in GPU which comes with 1 DVI and 1 VGA connector, but also no idea how to bring the chinch VGA monitor to work.

So I will wait for the adapater and try the first china-monitor.

Something like this may do the job.

Never tried it before though so cant guarantee it.

Or failing that, this looks like it'd do the job.

Looking real good there Linden.

Now, buttons and screen exports for LCD's I get, but I have absolutely no idea how to drive these segmented? displays.

Do you by chance plan to do a short howto on the subject later on, or maybe sell displays all ready to hook up?

Haha, cool lol.gif

Well, one certainly learns a lot messing around with this stuff.

What about your caution panel and indicators, will those also be driven from Open Cockpit cards or a Phidgets board?

Now, off to read up on OC cards... :book:
