spn Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 The trim adjustments for the P-51D is not working with my setup. I am referring to the Left Aerion, Right Aerion, Elevator Up, and Elevator Down. The default setting in controls are Rctrl , Rctrl / Rctrl ; and Rctrl .. I have reset these settings a number of time but without any success. They did work with the previous World 1.1.1.1. I have also tested in both Real and Easy. Any ideas as to what the current issues are, I would appreciate any help. Thanks
Ali Fish Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 (edited) firstly i would remove your saved games/DCS folder and re map everything. (save it as backup to another location) and reset your desired setting for the game expereince C:\Users\*YOURNAME*\Saved Games\DCS 1. remove that folder i mentioned. 2. re launch the sim - Launching the sim will recreate all the files you just removed from the saved games location. 3. re map all keys and devices and inputs. i know its a pain. but it has proved to work with the plethera of these sorts of problems. And as it is BETA you are obliged to do so as it can not be confirmed that simply updating from one patch to the next will work without problems. Edited August 17, 2012 by Ali Fish [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I think that much of what I am experiencing with the P-51D is that it tends to have a constant climb along with a tendency to want to have a constant lean to the left I guess due to the torque of the engine I would guess. All of the trim functions are working in the sim but even when they are maxed out, it is a struggle to get a level flight. I am constantly having to have a downward force on the controller to get anything near a level flight. I really don't remember having these issues with World 1.1.1.1

sobek Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 World wasn't released with 1.1.1.1, neither was the P-51. A track of the behaviour would be helpful. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
spn Posted August 18, 2012 Author Posted August 18, 2012 World wasn't released with 1.1.1.1, neither was the P-51. A track of the behaviour would be helpful. I was confusing because of adding Combined Arms recently. My mistake. Basically after take off. I have attempted to use a Cntrl T to help stablize the flight. I had the P-51D filled to 100% fuel before take off. I do a "Cntrl /" to attempt to get the plane to stop wanting to fly with a left lean and also a "Cntrl ;" to get it to stop constantly climbing. I end up having to apply down force and right stick to keep it on level flight. I do have two wing tanks as the only loadout. I am not having this problem with the A-10C, K-50 or the Su-25T. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Razor5-1 Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Fly then, quit once your finished and at the debrief the option to save track is there. It will go to the folder where your screenshots are.

I think I have the attachment properly attached. If this is the normal flying charactics of the P-51D, then this is just that I am not use to flying the P-51D. Thanks for your help

I really don't remember having these issues with World 1.1.1.1 my first reaction to your comments are that you are not trimmed. what do you mean by maxed out trim, because that should not be as so. keep your power low, 35 manifold, and about 25 rpm. check your axis settings also. and ingame press right CTRL + Enter/Return key that will show you where your stick rudder and throttle are set. the contanstly going up charactersistic means there is definetly something wrong somewhere, and i cant state its the beta build because its just worked as intended all the time for me. upload a Track or TRK file for me here and i can have a look. after a single player flight on the briefing screen you will see options to save track. with that i can watch ingame what you did in the flight. Thanks for your help your using to much power, once your off the ground, try level it out asap and reduce the RPM and throttle. 2 different things! your constantly full throttle so to speak. also you have not removed rudder trim after takeoff. and for this present build only need to use 2.5 degrees not the full 5 as it say in manual (LETS assume its a bug for now 2.5=5 degrees).... you are flying ball central but its wrong like that. also look at your temperature guages, way off the scale. hence too much power being used. i made this off the cuff video a while back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRZLPHAcNNs, think ill re do this video for this build. Thanks to the both of you. It is my inexperience with the P-51D that is the issue I think.
Ali Fish Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Thanks to the both of you. It is my inexperience with the P-51D that is the issue I think. a little yes but your alright, much worse out there lol. took me a week just to take off in a dcs prop. we all went through the same. very easy to do things a little wrong and not realise their impact let alone understand it. and for me thats why its so wonderfull, the technique the physics. its just lovely when you get it right. have you got any aids in the settings like, take off assistance and automatic rudder on ? they will help at the start. but id just go for it without.
