Hello,

for some reason i have no trees and no buildings in multiplayer (Singleplayer runs fine). I tried to use a copy of the High.scn3 file and renamed it to low.scn3 to force my computer to draw buildings and trees(this always worked with BS1). This gave me the trees back, but still no buildings. How can i force my computer to draw cities again?

Yes, i heard of this. Many server run low scene to safe performance. But is there any way to force my Computer to use high scene? I could solve this issue in BS1 and had no problems.

I don't know to be honest - changes required may end up with your client failing the integrity check for Multiplayer, but I can't say for sure.

I've seen this in action, and in the past we were able to allow any variation of scene setting the user desired... but now it seems impossible. The mission/server settings (and UI related options) are confusing at best.

You are right! BS1 did let you the user set your own setting, but now the owner of the server sets the settings. You have no control and if your rig is a bit falling short on on cpu and gpu on some servers you might have a problem.

Just flew on STP VIII and 104th´s Server. I have no Cities on both of them. Before i copied High.scn3(see first post)no trees as well. I guess they are running low scene. Can Someone confirm this? Trees are now being drawn again. Integrity did not fail.

In the mission options you can set to force certain settings, you can turn it off too so that the server runs on low settings and the client sticks to its own settings.

The missionhost/server needs this setting to have in place first. Its also possible that youre forced to have high settings so there will be more buildings and scenery that can block vehicleview.

Low graphics settings is also 'easy mode' as high settings are 'normal/hard'

In my testing, disabling scene settings in the mission options did not allow all clients to see their desired level of scenery. Everyone was stuck with Low. Any idea what's up with that?

There are three places where the scenery levels can be set: 1) On the server, 2) on the client, and 3) in the mission design. It is possible that the mission designer set the level to low. I believe in this case regardless of the client and server settings, the scenery will be low.

Edit: There are a few settings available in the ME, such as civilian traffic, but I do not remember if scenery level is one of them. However, if you are creating/editing a mission and you have scenery set low on that machine and have the "always use these settings" option checked, the mission will be saved with those settings; and I think those settings will override the settings on the client or server. (Did I remember to say, "I think".)
