I can't understand for the life of me why most mission planners have the best layouts for their servers with pictures and charts. When it comes to planning them most fall short,no proper waypoints,no clear directions in the mission briefing nor have the right mission loadouts for the right missions.I understand that the A-10c and Blackshark can make and edit their own waypoints, but with the Su-25t you can't.I'm I missing something here or just a loon who can't fly?  :music_whistling: :(

in our group, we have no way points, or steer points. our members file their own flight plan and add their own flt plan to the CDU.

If you don't like what you see.... do it yourselfe. ;)

And don't blame people who are spending a lot of time and effort to their missions/servers for no money!

If i had to pay then i would be a REAL loon!

if you were to pay, i can guarantee you wont want "real".

if i can recall correctly, A10 pilots plan for approximately 5-8 hrs on the ground for a 1hr flight.

so, do you really want "as real as it gets"??

No Bitch, Bitch, Bitch…

I agree though, the tools and ability to simulate whatever is there, the realistic flight plans is the problem.

CAS can turn into a useless reconnaissance.

The list of my recommendations:

1)The Use of messages and information for each flight group being at the core of mission design.

2)Use CA and limit Ground force commanders to 1 or 2 battle groups on front line/s then activate reinforcements if possible. Leave the rest hidden and give them a briefing for goodness sake.

3) Create an atmosphere for the entire map and show it in the briefing.

Reduce the wards of politics and oil to increase the space for relevant tactical information, for example: Political tensions broke the peace agreement which lead to strikes at Alpha, that’s it.

The French division is south of Alpha and the German division is east of alpha, Identify visually if not sure.

That information could be useful for close proximity CAS work.

Naval fleet and SAMs can have strong impression on entire map with 12 map units worked with triggers.

4) AI fighters.

I’ll carry on with the list later.

We make our own missions the way we like them. When we do use some one else's mission we do exactly that. Use it they way they set it up. Not the way we like it. There is a mission editor at the ready in everything here. Learn it as you would any other sim. That way if it isn't the way you like it then it's because you didn't do it right to suit yourself. But don't expect others to make it perfect because there is no such thing as a perfect world. Even in virtual one.

Nevertheless it’s more about the task weather you like it or not, you read a flight plan for SEAD or CAS even Reconnaissance and you choose that, not the blur.

I have to agree with Dragon. For some of my training missions, I have logged over 40+ hours in just the creation, research, planning, and recording for the mission. That does not include the cumulative time it takes to keep the missions up to date after the patches, or the introduction of new trigger logic. I donated my time to help people understand the game better.

That being said however, its very easy to overlook a few details here and there. You should give the mission designers some time. The su25 has not really been out that long not to mention we have to take into account ground commanders, and all the various flight modules. What are the players going to do? How many players is the mission designed for? Will there be a ground commander in this game and not the next?

Its very hard to plan for all eventualities of every single flight and group. Not all missions will cater to your specific needs. Pick and choose the ones that work best for you or make your own. If you want to spend the time and create a mission as you have described, I would love to play it.

Dont Forget that there are still some Strange Bugs in Multiplayer like this.

The Point is we cant do what we want to do many Times

Also i like to build missions that are made for Pilots which like a little challenge.

Cause Fly to Point A and Destroy Units will get boring fast.

So the Pilots have to think about before flight.

Also many People dont read the Briefings or only Parts.

It’s a sensitive subject because whenever someone decides to post some feedback he is usually welcomed with do it yourself reply.

If there was a decent option to choose from then perhaps this thread wouldn’t exist and to have a closer look at choices it often looks something like this: 14-20 open servers, 32 players in total, 10 in one server, 6 in another, 2 or 3 or 0 in others. Quite often you join a server and see people popping in and out, 30 min later it’s a new team. Let’s have 100 servers, is it gonna increase the number of players? I recon that’s the point of this thread.

I also have logged time creating a mission but that doesn’t pass my quality control easily, in one instance it took me 2 hours to find a place for a FARP only to realise later that MRLS can fire at it from 30km so the front line was moved to 50km, a bit of a stretch for KA-50 but I wouldn’t try to make a suicide route for them.

Ofcourse it’s easy to dump SU-25T on the map and say get on with it, but the better option for it would be to fly to point and receive instructions or read the static task in the briefing.

One can put many SAMs in or near forests in which case a safe flight route must be opened by ground forces and no-fly zones should be clear to the pilot.

I don't disagree with any of your points, i'm just saying that it all takes time and is easy to overlook a few details. The Mission Editor is still developing and so are the missions. They are becoming much more complex now.

One thing to keep in mind is if you are joining an open server that a squadron hosts, they may be familiar with the briefing stuff that was left out because it was discussed in another forum, vent, Team speak ect. With the briefing left out, its also possible for the flight leads to do formations, training, or whatever. Just some examples of "what if's" though.
