Max1mus
@Chizh This is from your DLZ simulator. The difference between the DLZ simulator and the graph is as big or even bigger with the R-27R. Yet the DCS R-27R achieves the ranges on the diagram, plus 150 m/s (simulator +15-20% +reserve) In this example it is 6.5km in DCS/on the graph vs 5.16km on the simulator at 1.000m. 15km on the graph vs 12.5 on the simulator at 10.000m. Could we please have both R-27R and R-27ER modelled to the same standard? One is following the graph right now, and one the DLZ simulator. Even though the simulator has 15-20% less range at all altitudes. R-27R Graph (considered accurate by you): Your F-16, F-18, F-14 and F-15 owners would thank you. A realistic R-27 is many times more important to them than it is to the few MiG-29/Su-27 flyers that have not stopped playing yet.

Но и запаса энергии у нас тоже нет, чтобы вышла чуть за график, т.к правильно все же считать чтобы ракета входила в график DLZ который вы предоставили? tavarish palkovnik
For one graph full of mistakes I'm finding perfect matches...guys...this graph is valid and official. Although for the ones who are in this, explanation about these above will not be needed, but if there will be interest in constructive discussion I'm here. Points were zones in aspect of relative velocities are changing let's say advantages, accordingly shape of ZVP are for reason placed as they are placed. Forget eggs, circles and perfect ellipses. 1
BlackPixxel
@tavarish palkovnik On the point you chose the DLZ simulation and the chart are pretty close. Maybe you could do one for somewhere between 60° to 70° aspect angle, as there is the biggest difference at 10 km altitude. Would be interesting to see if DLZ or chart will match best with your result!

Would be interesting to see if DLZ or chart will match best with your result! In this area I wouldn’t dare to go in. It is tricky when have no any clue what everything is given on rocket to have in those points when rocket almost radially goes into the trajectory of target. Leaving to individual conclusions and opinions, just giving numbers I’m getting. Velocities are 600 and 615m/s respectively and although it is not fully correct to consider presented angles 16 and 14 as ones between vectors Vr and Vc for our level we can. In that case components of Vr against target are: 600*sin 16=165m/s and 615*sin 14=150m/s About radars, frequencies, radio signals in general and all other necessary for radio fuse I know almost nothing (actually never had interest to learn something) so based on this I can’t make any conclusion. Beside that, one of main criterium to rocket is that destroying probability must not be less then given, and here when rocket flying quite demanding respectively to target this criterium could be very important. Higher values of available overload (higher velocity) reducing errors or deviations in impact point and all that keep probability in given percentage. Take all this written with reserve, it is just personal observation.

BlackPixxel
"In addition to the new drag coefficients, the R-27ER/ET received an updated thrust profile. According to our research, the missile should have a boost-sustain ratio of 5/3 instead of 5/1, whilst retaining motor total impulse. Thrust dependence on altitude was also corrected for all R-27 missiles" That research is the chart from the university? Interesting that a third party chart is trusted more than official charts and values from the manual...

From my understanding its more that he's been saying that the cfd in some areas matches or exceeds the dlz chart. While there are others where they appear not too but this can easily be explained by the errors in the DLZ chart.

The DLZ chart is old news, and that ED considers all of them except the R-27ER one accurate. Im talking about Chizhs apparently real-life Su-27 DLZ simulator. Read the posts from before for context. In short: The difference between chart and DLZ from the simulator is consistently the same for both R-27R and R-27ER. But the R-27R in DCS consistently has a 20-25% energy reserve compared to the DLZ, and matches the chart. R-27ER has 0-5%.
