JG14_Smil Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Did a quick test. For me a huge reduction in FPS. Too tired to mess with it now and will probably just go back to my previous version.
lokitexas Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Updated the driver last night. I had the opposite of Smil. Nice increase in FPS, on my 560ti 2gig. So far, loving the new driver. i5 3570k @ 4.3 560ti GTX 2gig 8gig RAM Intel SSD Win7 64bit
JG14_Smil Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Hello, Thought I would do a follow up after a couple hours sleep. To be fair about the latest drivers, I just did a quick install and test without any optimizing the settings. I verified that I got my FPS back up into the 90+ range by going back to my 304.79 drivers, which have been best with my (2x) 1920x1080 monitors. My FPS dropped into the 50's with the latest set. Now that I know I can fix my great setup, I'll give the latest drivers another shot when I get time.
JG14_Smil Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 394.79 vs 306.23 OK. Have made tests with similar settings in both versions of NV drivers in the 'Attack Insurgents' instant mission. 306.23 - locked at 60 FPS, with Vsync enabled or not. 304.79 - back to my beloved 90+ FPS. Vsync enabled or not, with no visible tearing. Easy choice for me. Two monitor setup, side by side in Wind'rs 7, top and bottom in my cockpit. Running SoftTH and exact same settings in both versions.
Bodo Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 I also noticed performance seemed a little slower with the EVGA drivers version 306 so I'm gonna go back to 304 tomorrow and I'll maybe do a test before doing so to see what diff I get. MIght experiment with nvidia versus EVGA versions, too if I can be arsed Corsair 550D / Be Quiet 650W Pro 10 / ASUS P8Z77-V Pro / Intel i5 3570K / 16GB Kingston HyperX 1600 MHz / EVGA GTX 970 SC ACX2 4GB / 128GB Samsung 830 / RME HDSPe Multiface 2 / 1TB Samsung F3 / Prolimatech Megalames Rev.
