ErichVon Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 This issue has been addressed prior for the A-10, different controller brand: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=89233&highlight=cursor ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (DCS_WORLD Version 1.2.0.3205) I am trying to use Crunch's CH Products' profile for FC2 for the Su-25T. His profile works fine for me in FC2. His profile is found here: ================ http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/showthread.php?7149-Lockon-Flaming-Cliffs-2!-PT-FS-PP I cannot map DCS World for the Su-25T in Options > Controls > Axis Commands: I-251 Slew Horizontal or I-251 Slew Vertical cursor for the Shkval using my Pro Throttle's Mini-Stick in "x" and "y". It is mentioned in the FC2 .pdf Flight Manual (page 280). I can set it in World, but it does not function in Single Player missions. The keyboard cursor commands of ( ; . , / ) do function properly for the Shkval's targeting cursor. I set it just fine in FC2. I can set the other functions to the Pro Throttle in DCS World with no negative issues. The 2010 published, paperback book, "Lock On: FC2 Flight Manual" identifies the Shkval TV screen as the IT-23M (page 56 and page 70). I do not know the Su-25T very well, even in FC2. Bringing this to the developers attention. I am still working the problem for solution. May attempt a different user's CH Products' profile (there are 2 others from CH Hangar) or I will try a workaround or create a separate custom setup, but I would prefer to use Crunch's profile as I use his similar controls layout for the Black Shark 1 and 2.
hobbes57 Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 And I have exctly the same problem with a HOTAS Warthog. I assign the ministick to I-251 Slew Horizontal/Vertical. When I use "Axis tune" to check, it correctly recevies and shows ministick inputs. However, in an actual mission (I only tried singleplayer so far) the Shkval does not react. It does react to the standard keyboard keys.
Nate--IRL-- Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 I just checked with my mouse - works fine here. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
ErichVon Posted September 23, 2012 Author Posted September 23, 2012 (edited) I just checked with my mouse - works fine here. Nate I am not using my mouse. I did try assigning the mouse but that function will not even happen in Options\Controls\Axis Commands under Mouse. I am suspecting there is a conflict in the background either within Saved Games under Users or somewhere else under C:\ for DCS World. Would other people using this with success kindly offer possible areas to clear out to remedy this situation? I created my own CH Products Control Manager profile for the P-51D that works great. I have Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit. I am thinking of saving my P-51D controllers setup and completely dumping DCS World, current beta, and Saved Games and starting over. 159th_Falcon Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Got similar problem here. Whatever i do the ministick on my X52Pro does not get recognized when i try to assign it to the I-251 (skhval) Solved it in the profile editor of the X52 though. Set the ministick (mouse) to bands. In the respective bands set the keystrokes corresponding to the skhval leaving the middle band for each axis empty. Works like a charm. Still should be able to just assign it ingame though, not? Nate--IRL-- Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 (edited) Are you guys using an old config file for your joystick from a previous version? Try deleting or renaming C:\Users\<User Name>\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\su-25T\joystick and reload the sim and try to assign it again. 159th_Falcon Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Nope, never use old config files, will try anyways later today though. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The keeper of all mathematical knowledge and the oracle of flight modeling.:)

Thanks. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (Edit): Initially I got the CH Pro Throttle's mini-stick to function as the mouse cursor and it functioned fine in the Su-25: Single Player: "Ramp Start and Navigation" mission. The Shkval and HUD cursor operated just fine. But coming back into Options/Controls to continue to setup a few different things went kapooey. I think there are remnants of the previous beta causing conflict as I see different dates on various files back to May 2012. 8 hours later, still no joy. I am starting over from scratch. I completely gutted the Saved Games\DCS stash and uninstalled the 1.2.0 beta update. I am hoping there is nothing else in other files causing this conflict. I stashed the download in "My Documents" previously. I will report back in a few days if I win. If not I will write a note to the developers red letter express... And if so how EXACTLY did you set it up to slew Skhval? Are you using the SST profiler software? What version? Did you assign the ministick under the X52 flight stick controller column or under an "mouse" controller column? Did you set anything specific in the X52's control panel? Thanx for the help so far, hopefully we can nail it down. ***EDIT*** Now this is interesting. I just went back into the inputs folder to restore the backup i made. Though the su-25T/Joystick folder was empty it only had the folder in it i named "backup" whit the old input files. Ill move the backup folder to Desktop and try again. ***EDIT*** Done, couldn't map once again, but more interesting, i went back to the /su-25T/joystick folder and guess what. No files. So if the game isn't using this folder and its input files, then which ones is it using??? To clarify, im doing all this in the latest release of DCS World on a Windows 7 Home Premium PC under 64bits Edited September 23, 2012 by 159th_Falcon [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The keeper of all mathematical knowledge and the oracle of flight modeling.:)

I updated my Message #9 as an edit as to starting over with a re-install. The-P-51D works great, the Toad---not! I have not played with the new World: A-10, yet, but I bought the pre-purchase. I will wait for final release for the World: Black Shark. Edited September 23, 2012 by ErichVon
ErichVon Posted September 25, 2012 Author Posted September 25, 2012 (edited) (re: Message #9) Concerning my DCS World re-install: The CH Pro Throttle's "mini-stick" target designator cursor now functions fine in the Su-25T's HUD and the Shkval. I mapped "x" and "y" under the mouse in Options \ Controls. The Shkval zoom I use my Fightestick's mini-throttle wheel mapped as an axis analog command. The Su-25T training add-on for the World's Su-25T , "Su-25T_Video_Setup_EN.exe" crashes to a dead state, to the opening desktop screen, when I try to use any of the Su-25T's training movies: "DCS has stopped working." . The A-10C training videos work fine, but no audio instruction, yet the other aircraft can be heard fine. In FC2, but a separate video training installation, similar to above, the Su-25T videos work fine. I will do the training process to FC2 and translate the differences to World later. I suspect the Su-25T's later betas will crossover to FC3. Edited September 25, 2012 by ErichVon

Solution, Message 2: ============= http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1613160 I use Crunch's solution for the Su-25T but my Saturation setting is not as slow as his, moving the targeting cursor around. But the Ka-50 for World in Options/Controls under ALL has its own Shkval settings which is what I use for the Shark. I am learning the Su-25T currently and thus the update for my Firefox Bookmarks' reference. Edited February 9, 2013 by ErichVon
