Because, and AFAIK, the only jets with Link-16 were the 18 Elmendorf jets, at least until recently.

JTIDS was slowly introduced in the late 80's and still being added in the 1990's. Not sure why it was taking them so long to have it intrgrated. I know after a one year OT&E in 2001 I think, the ANG and the USAF got the Link 16.

In 1986 when I was 14 and my dad was at Hanscom AFB, he took me to a hanger set up for some big wigs. In it was an F-15C and a portable (I assume demo model) of the JTIDS box. They had an F-15 stick attached to it and the pilot was showing how to use it. It was beyond cool. It occured to me that the radar is easy mode it very much like the JTIDs display.

No rank or title will ever be as important as the unit patch you wear.

I thought they were the ones who got the AESA radar.

The Elmendorf guys tend to get stuff first, yes; they seem to be the squadron that tests certain things in practice first.

Your sure?

According to ingame encyclopedia;

AIM120C Range 65km and max MACH 3.5

R27ER Range 70km and max MACH 4.0

Seems to me the ER has a longer range right?

Assuming ofcourse the data in the encyclopedia is made in a way you can actually compare the weapons.

IE launched at same pressure altitude, same speeds and same closure range etc etc

Don't remember that from the Encyclopedia, though from my experience, the 120C has the longest range. Even if the range is shorter than ER, it's an active missile.

By rolling? Can you explain what you mean.

As GG said, the RWR displays azimuth relative to your wingspan, not horizon. Bank 90 degrees, and you can get the exact elevation of threats.

Awaiting: DCS F-15C

Cheers.

I clearly need to fly the F15c more. I'll need to test this myself as i can't quite picture what you mean. (probably just being dense)

Use a couple of month's and learn all about the weapons on each aircraft and you will have great fun for at least a couple of years. Do all the campaigns and there is a lot of user made missions that keeps the sim enjoyable. And that is all in the offline single mode! This lenght of enjoyment really difference this flight simulator from any of the crappy FPS games, and for a fraction of the price! :D
