pepin1234 Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Hi. Somebody can help me and say me how can I lock the airborn targets with the Su-25T. No way trying lock a Heli with that procedure. I have seeing the Shkval video tutorial about 100 times but I dont get the lock for a Mi-24. I really find this capability usefull but How... You can see the video in youtube. At the minute 4:23 you can see how ED say us that procedure, but simply not work with me: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Boberro Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 (edited) Depending of the light amount and target box size and aspect of target to the horizon. Often you will lock target only if you are lower than it is, I mean below his physical altitude (you put aim above centerline of the HUD and Shkval). You must learn how it works, surely not always it will when you do as ED's video says. Practice and you will catch how it works. You'll predict if you get lock or not in present conditions you are. pepin1234 Posted September 29, 2012 Author Posted September 29, 2012 Thanks I am trying to do it [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Mohamengina Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I'm still struggling with this. Part of the Su25's advantage over the planes currently is power and altitude but now I have to sacrifice that in order to get a long range shot that might not even lock up? Not even sure if it is worth it. I have tried quite a few times to get a lock and haven't. Other than being lower than your opponent, is their any other trick to make it lock on?
EtherealN Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Well, you're sacrificing advantages because you're trying to use an anti-tank weapon against airborne targets - on an aircraft that can employ AAMs. ;) Using Vikhrs against airborne targets is a desperation move, something you do when you really really have to (for whatever reason; possibly friendlies being under attack by helis and you not having any AAMs onboard). Don't expect it to be either easy nor particularly effective compared to using tools made for that job. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
Boberro Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Cmon EtherealnN :D We all know GheyTen pilots are easy targets for Vikhrs xD Firing anti-tank missile against them is not "desperation move" - firing R-73 is :D Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. pepin1234 Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 Somebody can make a Video and show how he get the lock on?? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Sparker Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 (edited) You should try target size about 22-27 for air targets. If your enemy is lower than the horizon you can lock it just like other ground units(of course, you still have to set the proper target size). If your enemy is higher than the horizon you have to place the aim mark not far from it and then press the lock button. Bytheway, there is a real life video: Edited September 30, 2012 by Sparker [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
pepin1234 Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 like that is with the Ka-50. But with the Su-25T seem work different. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
pepin1234 Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 Got it!! Once you have visual contact with some heli or a aircraft ( one that runaway to the skyline ) you stabilize the 25T trying put the airborne target at the center of the HUD, when the aircraft is enough stabilized, Autopilot ALT/ROLL/PITCH on ( F1 ). Then you can lock easyly moving the reticle and Lock on ( ENTER ) wait you are 6 km distance and fire. ( Heli x23 and Aircraft around x30 at the reticle ) great!! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Boberro Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Well, for me you complicated it strongly :P But if that pleases you OK :D Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
