JTAC once more

Hey guys,

 

I know the topic of JTAC has been adressed quite a few times already. I have not yet found an answer to my very own problem though, so that I start a new topic (yes I did use the search function).

 

I started the campaign "Gregorian Hammer" a few days ago and in each mission I encouter the same problems.

 

Sometimes it takes YEARS (in fact sometimes up to 20 tries) to get in contact with JTAC. JTAC asks me to report when ready to copy the 9-line. I acknowledge it, JTAC tells the 9-line and asks for a report when ready to copy further details.

 

This is where I get stuck. While it still worked after some time in the first 2 or 3 missions, it now barely works at all. I can tell JTAC that I am ready to copy as often as I want to, I never get those information. I can fly circles over the FLOT, the IP, the airport, anywhere in any altitude, I do not get a response. I have been flying until JTAC told me to abort, since the target was destroyed, to return since no further tasking was available.

 

Is that all caused by my very own stupidity? If anyone has an idea how to solve this issue, I'd be very happy.

Which Georgian Hammer are you playing? I was playing the one that came with the A10C/World and got stuck on the 4th mission (stuck as in I never could get a completed you may depart, so I could not advance). I found a fix posted for slow JTAC response that was working for that version. I was looking and found a newer version http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/214325/ , This version lets me advance but the JTAC response time is SLOW!

JTAC is sometimes slow to respond or doesn't answer or sometimes doesn't give you further instructions. I figure that's the fog of war

Just to contribute my 2-pence of solidarity, I also experience this slow JTAC process in the default A-10C Georgian Hammer campaign.

 

I don't think repeated requests are necessary. I tried circling for 5 minutes awaiting JTAC response to "ready for comments" and eventually he got back to me. Other times he still doesn't continue the conversation after 10 minutes.

 

It is difficult to spot any obvious reason for this delay but I have a feeling it might (sometimes) be related to friendly AI units engaging the target that JTAC was in the process of reporting.

If you're lucky the friendly unit(s) will destroy the target group and so JTAC will call "ABORT ABORT ABORT" and then proceed to start a new target assignment.

Speed is currently waiting for the gold to release his world gold fix. But in 1.1.1.1. this is a life saver. Totally cool guy this Speed chap.

 

Now I copy both 9-line and remarks, and if your CDU/CICU is out of commission, you will not get the flasher.
