FC3 Auto/Manual update

Looking at the various Bug reports I see some have the 12 Nov update (FC3). I dont.

 

I tried forcing a manual update by running Autoupdate.exe in the DCS World\bin folder. I didn't see much happening, I am still running the previous version Ver 1.2.2.7204. BigNewy reports running ver 1.2.2.7204 in his F15 shadow post here:

So how do I force am FC3 Manual update ? Wags alludes to it in his 12 Nov update post.

Figured out how to force a Manual Update check.

 

Navigate to your ....Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS\Config folder.

 

Edit the autoupdate.settings file with a text editor. just delete the 1.

 

The file is a one liner it reads:

 

{"update_period": 1,"last_update": 150431}

 

 

Just edit it by deleting the 1 to:

 

 

{"update_period": ,"last_update": 150431}

 

Save it.

 

Next time you run DCS world it will manually look for an update. It will also reintroduce the 1 in the settings file. So you will need to remove this each time you want to force a manual update heck. I figure the 1 just means check once per day. Only trouble is I have no idea what time reference it uses for the day.

To manually update click 'Update DCS World' from your start menu.
