Won't update

[S77th-Kiwi]

I have 1.2.2.7122 and it won't update.

 

If I force an update it checks then opens the game, there are no error messages.

 

Any ideas.

Perhaps its a kiwi thing,

I cant update either, manually updated , ran repair which restored files changed with my mods so it worked ,still didn't update.???

I had issues with the updater. My anti-virus was stopping it. Disabled my anti-virus for a moment and it worked.

Tried the Anti Virus off trick; didn't work...

 

Going to re-install to see what happens then.

I ran into this problem today after doing a manual "un-"update from .7204 back down to .7122 so I could reinstall FC3.

 

Try navigating to "C:\....\DCS World\bin" in cmd prompt and type

 

dcs_updater.exe update

 

 

Worked for me. Don't know if it will start updating on it's own now though until another patch is released.

I personally have tried all that, with nothing.

 

I have re-installed twice now (with the 1.2.2 installs) and here is what happened...

 

Test 1

* Installed DCS World

* Ran updater: Installed very small updat, but version number still 7122.

* Installed other Modules

* Ran updater: Nother new :(

 

Test 2

 

* Installed DCS World

* Installed other Modules

* Ran updater: Nother new :cry:

 

It is interesting the all of us are in New Zealand having issues. Perhapse god (Read big company controlling the internet) has changed somthing. :music_whistling:

From what I can tell there have been two updates with versions 7204 and 7286!

 

I know NZ is out in the back waters, but what is going on here?

technically 7286 is still rolling out,

 

7204 however has been out, and it's seeing it as no update because you have it downloaded already.

 

 

So:

 

Start Run, CMD (Command Prompt as Admin)

 

CD\ (which takes you to C:\ Prompt)

CD Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bin\

then

dcs_updater.exe update :1.2.2.7204

 

 

 

 

Also,. Uninstalling doesnt clear Temp Folders or Saved Games Folder :)

Yep done that too. Gives me an error: "Update 1.2.2.7204 not avalible!"

That I havn't tried. I suspecty it will do the same, but anything is worth a try to get the wheels turning :smilewink: (F-15 wheels)

 

PS: 30 year veteran of PC / Atari / C-64 sims and gaming etc (read computer geek from way back), so use to things not quite working.

I tried exactly everything on this thread (updater without a number, with a number, etc...) and have the same problem.

We're making a small experiment with oniellnz.

 

What I can say for now: all update servers are OK, vital game files on oniellnz side are OK too.

It looks like a transparent proxy on the ISP side, which keeps giving an old version of update URL.

So it should resolve automagically with time, say, tomorrow.

However, I'll take a look at our update servers settings, which may 'help' to produce such situation.

UPDATE:

 

I tried to connect to my work VPN before starting the update, and it works ! It's updating as I write this. So I assume my VPN network is using a different route to connect to the DCS servers than my home network. Maybe a mirror problem ??

 

UPDATE 2 after reading c0ff's message above: Indeed my home ISP is using some sort of PROXY, whereas my work VPN does not (straight conn to internet).
