PE_Tigar Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Next you get to Lt. Col, and get to fly the desk :D, i.e. all modules are de-activated and deleted, and you get a new DCS: Solitaire module. 1
Aries Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 LOLZ!!!! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ...the few, the proud, the remaining...
statrekmike Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 In addition to the solitaire module, you will also get a base command module that has two buttons, a "activate two week base exercise mode" and a MOPP level mode, activated at the right time, they will ingratiate yourself to higher ups and put you in line for further promotion.
algerad3 Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 (edited) you guy's are mean !!!!! LOL Too funny.... Leysard, I am not sure if any one can answer your question, as it has been bounced around before and no real answers came forth ( unless I missed it somewhere.) All I can tell you is that ,I was not very happy at being assigned to "fly " the desk in a rear command post after my last promotion. ( just to throw that in there). Alfa Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Hello, Does anybody know how the rank are organised ? What are the ranks and how to get to them ? IIRC promotions are simply awarded based on number of sucessfully completed missions - requiring a double-up as you progress: * second lieutenant - 0 missions * first lieutenant - 15 missions * captain - 30 missions * major - 60 missions * lieutenant colonel - 120 missions * colonel - 240 missions Also, regarding medals, how many are there and how to get them ? The number of medals available differ depending on nation - they are awarded based on mission points, which I believe are down to number of destroyed targets, types of targets etc. JJ
Toxe Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I don't know what it is called (something like countries.lua?) but there is a file somewhere that defines the ranks and medals for each country. I think ranks are awarded solely on flight time. IIRC 120 hours was Lt. Colonel and 240 was Colonel. And I think medals are awarded on accumulated score. Most countries seem to have five medals, and I think you can get some special ones when you complete certain campaigns.
chaotikchiken Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Good question, nothing super important, but it'd be nice if there was a chart or list kind of like what Alfa did above. Thanks for the info! Prospekts March Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 (edited) Hello, Does anybody know how the rank are organised ? What are the ranks and how to get to them ? Also, regarding medals, how many are there and how to get them ? The ranking system is based on flight hours. These are the ranks and the required time to achieve them in order: Second Lieutenant: -0 flight hours First Lieutenant: -15 flight hours Captain: -30 flight hours Major: -60 flight hours Lieutenant Colonel: -120 flight hours Colonel: -240 flight hours I'm 9 hours away from Colonel. :pilotfly: In regards to the medals there are 8 and they are awarded based on overall score. Here is every medal with the required score to obtain it in order: Air Medal: -200 points Purple Heart: -600 points Bronze Star: -1000 points Airman's Medal: 1400 points Distinguished Flying Cross: -1800 points Silver Star: -2200 points Air Force Cross: -2600 points Air Force Medal of Honor: -3000 points I have all of the medals. The points and flight hours will be the same for different countries. The only difference between the countries is basically the rank insignia. Edited November 24, 2015 by Prospekt's March 4
