TucksonSonny Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 I didn’t know that Iran owns 6 AS-15 unarmed missiles (air-to-ground missiles kh-55 with 3000 km range and 200kT TNT equivalent/missile or which is a total capability of 1200 kilotons) They have the knowledge and the material to arm them. http://www.nti.org/e_research/profiles/Iran/Missile/1788_4967.html DELL Intel® Core™ i7 Processor 940 2,93 GHz @3 GHz, 8 MB cache | 8.192 MB 1.067 MHz Tri Channel DDR3 | 512 MB ATI® Radeon™ 4850 | 500 GB 7200 rpm Serial ATA | Samsung SM 2693 HM 25.5 " | HOTAS Cougar Thrustmaster |
Trident Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Only the Tu-95MS, but I'm sure the Iranians could fit it to their Su-24MK's if they put their minds to it. The Fencer can carry external fuel tanks that are a lot heavier than a Kh-55, so structurally there should be little trouble.
Force_Feedback Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 If they reverse engineered the aim-54a (maybe c), then they got to be able to do something with a "wee" kh-55 :p At least the bastard that sold them the kh-55s didn't include the nuclear warheads. Although Ukraine is the only country in the world that freewillingly has given up nuclear weapons, the not so nice guy that sold those missiles could have "included" (read bought from Russia) some "warm" parts. TucksonSonny Posted November 18, 2005 Author Posted November 18, 2005 I think last time I have checked on the net, there was Tu-22M Backfire and tu-16 Badger in the inventory but it was not sure. Anyway, the Tu22M can carry kh-22. It is anyway scary that these folks come in range of capital cities in Europe. peterj Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 There are some issues over there.. Iran intend to produce enriched uranium in underground facilities, for civil use they say, ofcourse the EU and the USA doesn't want this. The EU3 and IAEA do what they can to prevent this by diplomatic means. http://in.today.reuters.com/news/newsArticle.aspx?type=worldNews&storyID=2005-11-18T232642Z_01_NOOTR_RTRJONC_0_India-224158-1.xml
