dburne Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Hey gang, I have my POV hat assigned to trim for the Warthog, as it should be. I have Track IR5 for looking around. Occasionally, I will switch to exterior view just to look at the eye candy, and then switch back to the cockpit. Now when in F2 exterior view, I can move the view around with either the mouse, or the keys on the numpad. But what I wanted to do, was to use the paddle of the Warthog as a modifier, so when I pressed and held the paddle in, I could use the POV hat to move the view around, rather than having it trim the aircraft. So I added the paddle as a modifier in the control options for A-10C, the assigned each hat direction for the appropriate view direction, whilst holding the paddle in. They did assign properly, ie hat up reflected paddle + H1U, etc. However, after starting a flight and testing it, while it does work to move the view around in exterior mode, it also continues to trim the aircraft - not good. So I removed those assignments and just use the mouse now. But, am I correct in my thinking, that if the paddle is assigned as the modifier for the POV hat, and I assign the combination to look around, then trim should not be altered as well, only if not pressing the paddle in should the trim work? That is how I thought it would work anyway, but I could not get it to do so. Now really what would be nice, would be if Track IR controlled the exterior view as well... Anyhow, I would be curious as to others experience with something like this. Eight Ball Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 That's indeed how it should work. It works with every single other button but somehow not with the trim hat. So maybe you could try paddle+DMS or paddle+boat switch on the throttle, this should work without problem Find The Links To All My Mods And Liveries Here (in the gallery)

Good idea, I will try the DMS with the paddle and see how that works - thanks. Jorik Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I just got a HOTAS Warthog, so I'm still exploring the capabilities of this amazing setup, especially when you know I come from a saitek X45 :D . Now did I run in to a very small "problem". In DCS I assign the Paddle switch (S4) as modifier and assigned Paddle+POV as Trim and Paddle+TMS up/down for zoom. The strange thing is that I just need to press the paddle once and it stays On until I press it again, is this normal? What I would like is to hold the paddle and use the button and when I release the paddle it would go off and the buttons have there normal action again. Does somebody have a idea how to set this up? Jorik Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 I did find it, stupid me. I added the modifier to the switches side instead of the modifier side.
