X52 (Not Pro!) users, do you use the rotaries at all?

They seem wasted in this sim to me, is there any use for them?

e.g. my usage for Shkval:

Throttle Thumb Rotator: Zoom view or Target Box Size.

Set up as an Axis. Check Options->Ka-50->Axis assign for possible usage. Keep in mind, that all three (slider, rotator1, rotator2) might be sloppy and need fine tuning using a deadzone.

I used to use rotaries for zoom view, but they are spiking, so the view bounces (only happens in DCS for some reason, Il-2, Falcon, and other sims don't have that problem). Other than that... no use for them in BS.

No point in that, you only use the throttles on start-up, or emergency. What I'd really like is some axis filtering like IL-2 has - it would help with the spiking and make axis useful as trimmers.

Exactally. Getting an engine fire, and having to shut one down and crack the throttle on the other I find very useful.

As this is the BS section, and the OP asked for its use for the Ka-50, I dont think that using the rotaries for trim on the chopper would be very helpful.

I use;

* Mouse wheel > Track Gate Size,

* Slider > Zoom,

* Upper rotary > Shkval brightness (Shkval contrast {in mode2}),

* Lower rotary > HMS brightness.

I use:

Mouse-wheel click = normal zoom

Top rotary = fine rudder control

Thumb rotary (three bands: 0-33, 33-66, 66-100%) = zoom in/out

Thumb slider (two bands: 0-50, 50-100%) = center TrackIR

i use the rotaries for zoom in and gate size.. you have to make bands, for it to work.

Yes, I use this tecnique too.

And my other settings:

Slider setting.

Left-most short part: to view all cockpit. I just pull the slider.

Left side (of cursor): suitable view for flight to me.

Right side (or cursor): zoom for near area or looking at panels.

Rigth-most short part: max. zoom for far distance. Just pushing the slider to the end of it.
