Smoky Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 I want to remove the cockpit panels and displays, everything except the HUD and the presentation of the airframe so I can see the wings, airbrakes etc. I am using Helios on external models and no longer need the game-representation of these items. Is this possible? I feel I have been searching for a couple weeks on this topic on and off and I find a couple dead-end threads but nothing concrete. I do not just want to use the hud-only view. I really like seeing the plane for reference when using TrackIR. As flexible as this sim is, it seems like this should be possible. Perhaps just not straightforward? Thanks!
WildBillKelsoe Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 Alt+F1? AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
Smoky Posted December 26, 2012 Author Posted December 26, 2012 Isnt that just HUD only? I still want to see the airplane I'm sitting in though!
B25Mitch Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 Sounds like you want to cut the plane in half, eg. saw off the cockpit and everything in front of it. I imagine that would take some serious modding skills!
Smoky Posted December 26, 2012 Author Posted December 26, 2012 Nope, I really just want to get rid of the cockpit interior as much as possible. I've come across threads where people say they have "tubbed" the cockpit display. But there is no explanation or follow-up to my queries on "how", so maybe they were just stories and not real accomplishments since it seems so far like I'm the first to ask this question. I might give this a try in the cockpit builder's forum. I just thought you guys would know the ins-and-outs of A10 better. Or I thought someone from DCS might chime-in. We have a of pit-builders here so it would make sense to be able to disable the cockpit interior. Or am I the only one who thinks that?
Hogfather Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Hey Smokey, Im pretty sure there was a modified .LUA file for that over at SC simulations but I cant find it at gadrocs workshop either. try searching this thread... Cockpit Hud (Blackshark/A-10C) and hopefully soon fc2 I'm sure there's a few .rar files there to try.

I have put together a package that works with DCS-1.2.2 some days ago. Have a look at this post: Hi Flim, Here is the first the mod that... example how it looks with a 4-vieport.render: Edited January 18, 2013 by PeterP
