MACADEMIC Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 I'm rather new here, so forgive if this may be obvious to some of you. I've tried to look for answers around here, but apart from the impression that there are some general problems with MP at the moment, I couldn't find an answer to my issue. I've downloaded a MP mission from digitialcombatsimulator.com and put in my files. Now, when I want to host this mission I loads correctly, but a friend of mine cannot see it in the master server list, so cannot join. Anyone with a probable explanation, better even with a fix? Thanks in advance! MAC
ENO Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 (edited) Do you have your router configured to port forward 10308? That's the only thing I can think of. The server computer needs to have that open. Also- ensure you're both running the same versions. Edited January 5, 2013 by ENO 10308... thanks! "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. MACADEMIC Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 Still no luck. Opened all the ports on my Time Capsule Router to allow Public/Private 10308 but my mission is still not seen. I also turned off Windows Firewall. Any other suggestions? MAC
Rongor Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Known buggy behaviour of the multiplayer server function. You will find several threads bound to this issue spread within this forum. Some people claim to do workarounds that work on their sites. Others dont have that luck. For me, I have to reset my router almost every time when trying to host a session. Then after numerous tries, my buddies can join. AFAIK ED is working on this, maybe this also lead to the postponed employment of the 1.2.3 update. We can only hope...
Dejjvid Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Do you have your router configured to port forward 80308? That's the only thing I can think of. The server computer needs to have that open. Also- ensure you're both running the same versions. AFAIK it's 10308!! :music_whistling: i7 8700K | GTX 1080 Ti | 32GB RAM | 500GB M.2 SSD | TIR5 w/ Trackclip Pro | TM Hotas Warthog | Saitek Pro Flight Rudder [sigpic]http://www.132virtualwing.org[/sigpic]
MACADEMIC Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 Yes, I've set 10308, all ports open for this on my Time Capsule, yet no success with hosting a game. Anyone with a Time Capsule who can host okay? Or with a Mac running Windows 7 under Bootcamp? MAC
xcom Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Make sure you are on Internet and not on LAN. Also, I would ask how many servers can your friend see? There is a known issue which hides some servers, if he can see more than 15 than he is ok.
