RF13 Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Just finished a model and now I´m stuck in UVW unwrap. 3dsM beginner level here. I´ve already tried stitch tool and vertex/edge/face editing, no success. It seems impossible to make checkers aligned and not stretched. Any help? aaron886 Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Looks like you used a Normal Unwrap to begin with... strange that you're having problems with those highlighted polygons being "out of order." I can see it on the nose as well. Try running a Reset Xform modifier from the Utilities panel, then redoing your Normal Unwrap. You shouldn't have that problem.
RF13 Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 Xform applied, no relevant changes. Well, I´ve been watching and reading tutorials on this for 2 days and tried several things but I guess this unwrap thing is not for me. [sIGPIC]http://img852.imageshack.us/img852/6229/133z.png[/sIGPIC]

john_X Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 normal unwrap is difficult to paint because you don't have panel alignment..

RF13 Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 It took me 2 hours to align the intake faces. I don´t think I´m doing it the right way. [sIGPIC]http://img852.imageshack.us/img852/6229/133z.png[/sIGPIC]
SVKSniper Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 RF see uvw. First problem what i see: create more line on fuselage....one line on intake and fuselage.....than if you create uvw snap vertex(in uvw window on right down its snap) on fuselage and intake.... edgepilot Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 I recommend the plugin "XRayUnwrap." Very easy to use, and pretty cheap. You can find it HERE.
