Mandrake5 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I got shot down by an R77 (AA-12) on the 51st server last night (fired by a MiG-29) - however I didn't think this missile was in FC3 1.2.2  Today, I tried to add the R77 to some red fighters in the Mission Editor, but I can't find the R77 anywhere under payload.... so where is it and how can I have a play with it? :helpsmilie:
Drona Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 The MiG-29S variant is capable of carrying R-77. The MiG-29A isn't. It's been available since the original Lock On.
Mandrake5 Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 Aha, found it, thanks! Now for a some target practise...

Even in 1.1.1.1. I was flying 5B Shore mission, and as I was clearing SAM's my radio came to life with Hog 4-1, merged... 2 seconds later, my RWR also came to life with a flashy circumscribed M and if it was not for my quick reflex of tapping CMS fwd like a nutjob, I wouldv'e lost my craft, specially, that the bastard was passing on top of me, to my left as I broke hard right.. I heard his POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO........... and the missile explode away... However, he followed me into some canyons I marked for cover and as I got away with him, my fuel was post Joker and into Bingo. Sadly though, I climbed 19,600 feet to stay connected to tanker for 7 seconds... Before I threw in the towel and called it a day... Mandrake5 Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 This guy performed a perfect ambush, trailed me using his EOS so I got no RWR spikes, then activated radar and fired an R-77 at close range all within about 1 second. First I knew of it I was falling out of the sky! I was very impressed.
winchesterdelta1 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I had the same... Me and a friend of mine where happely flying in formation to kick some ass. We where making some jokes and having some fun till suddenly i look right and see my wingman being blown out of the sky in a bigg ass fireball from nowhere. I was like shiiiiiittt i'm next. And yes, before i could even react my F-15 was in 1000 pieces aswell. Hahaha that was brilliant. I wished i recorded that. Go in close, and when you think you are too close, go in closer.

But but but... He's got EOS! The weapon of choice there should have been an IR missile. :P [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
