Warthog buttons conflicting with Track IR?

Recommended Posts

Hey gang,

This one has me stumped. I posted this a few days ago on the Natural Point forums, but so far no clue as to what is going on. I know there are some smart folks in here, so thought I would try here as well.

My issue - Is in regards to my Track IR5, Warthog stick, and Logitech G400 mouse. It seems to have just started this recently, but I can't determine exactly when.

I use this setup, in A-10C. Obviously, I do not use a Target profile when running A-10C, as I like how it is plug and play with that sim.

Now, as I really do not have extra buttons convenient for assigning the pause and re-center commands for Track IR to my stick, I have assigned them to the forward and back buttons, on the left side of my G400 mouse. I assigned them from within the Track IR software, and it shows properly, that re-center is assigned to mouse button 5, and pause is assigned to mouse button 4.

No problem so far, and they work as assigned.

However - with this profile, now the paddle on the Warthog stick, pauses as well, and the S1 button on the stick, re-centers as well! Obviously not an ideal situation to have. Now if I remove those assignments from those two mouse buttons, the joystick buttons no longer do that. It seems like when I first set it up it did not used to do this, but now does.

I am running the latest release version of the Track IR5 software, which I just updated to couple of days ago, it did it as well with the previous version also.

Wondering if anyone else has come across anything like this?

Thanks for any feedback,

Don B

This is normal for TIR. The software does not differentiate between USB controllers so every controller that is connected is the same to TIR.

If you assign mouse button 5 to pause then button 5 for every connected controller will also pause your TIR.

This is a long standing issue.

EDIT: Since you are using the Warthog Plug n Play then you will find that your Mic switch will also affect TIR (don't recall which positions are which button number but I believe that is where buttons 4 and 5 are on the throttle).

I did something a bit different. I use the Warthog pinky lever to center & pause TIR. A short press centers TIR, a long press pauses TIR, only uses one button and it is really handy having it on the joystick. I also used "F" keys above F12 for the TIR button assignments so I don't conflict with the default DCS key assignments.

So if you aren't using the pinky lever for anything you might what to look here for another solution.

There was a typo in step 7, but I have just corrected it about 30 minutes ago.
