-Demon- Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 (edited) Hi all, I hope thats the right place to ask that question. I recommended DCS: World to my brother. He downloaded the 4 files and encounters the problem that when ever he tries to do something with the setup.exe, his computer freezes and he has to restart. Meaning: start the DCS_World_release_EN_1.2.2.7570_69.exe -> freeze check the DCS_World_release_EN_1.2.2.7570_69.exe with other tools -> freeze delete DCS_World_release_EN_1.2.2.7570_69.exe -> freeze remove or copy to another folder -> freeze download another instance of the DCS_World_release_EN_1.2.2.7570_69.exe to another folder and try to start -> freeze by now he has 4 instances of the setup.exe which cannot be removed or deleted. Anyone had that problem already? He desperetly wants to tryout DCS and can't.:helpsmilie: Specs of his computer: OS: Win7 64Bit Ram: 4 GIG CPU: intel core2 duo cpu e6750 2,66 ghz GPU: Geforce 8800 gt All drivers are up to date... Thanks a lot for any suggestion and help Cheers Demon Edited January 8, 2013 by -=Demon=- [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Founder of the -=VDS=- http://www.virtual-dragon-squadron.de:pilotfly:

-Demon- Posted January 10, 2013 Author Posted January 10, 2013 Hi SkateZilla, there is no ntfs error. Only a lot of CD-Rom errors. Can you be more specific what I should look for? the HD is not damaged or inconsistent. Any other ideas? Looking forward to hear from you. Thanks in advance. EtherealN Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Have you checked the md5 hashes? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MD5 Might be that the connection fails to deliver the files intact. In this case, I would recommend using the Bittorrent link, since they hash-check each partition of the files automatically for you and thus protect against connection and communication issues. -Demon- Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 It also might be that some Antivirus Software recognize the russian letters and determine part of the files as a virus and delete parts of it. That once happend with the Black Shark 1.0 if recall that correctly. Good Luck  Cheers Demon [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Founder of the -=VDS=- http://www.virtual-dragon-squadron.de:pilotfly:
