Yellonet Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Can the real Su-25T carry laser guided bombs? It has the right system as it can use laser guided missiles, and when you start FC you can see a T frog with KAB-500L's. If it can't; why not? i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5
britgliderpilot Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Can the real Su-25T carry laser guided bombs? It has the right system as it can use laser guided missiles, and when you start FC you can see a T frog with KAB-500L's. If it can't; why not? It can carry them, it can drop them. It can't self-designate, and buddy-lasing isn't modelled . . . . yet. The problem is that the Shkval looks forwards - but if you drop a bomb, it isn't going to fall ahead of you, it's either going to fall directly underneath or slightly behind you. As such, you need a laser that can designate down or backwards. This comes in the form of a shiny external pod . . . . the MiG27 and a couple of other aircraft can carry it, but the Su25T can't. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
504MrWolf Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 It requires a special pylon and reversible laser pod. AFAIK the SU39TM (newer version) has this pod and pylon and the Su25T hasnt. Plus they arent modeled in Lockon, i think they had plans to but thididnt happen. Also for your information this subject has been discussed to the death ages ago and if you use the seach function of this forum you should find lots of info. :) happy hunting. Yellonet Posted November 28, 2005 Author Posted November 28, 2005 Thanks guys. A shame though, I like dropping LGB's... Edit: and some people are against an F-16 :p i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5
Maverick-90 Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Edit: and some people are against an F-16 :p Yep me! F/A-18 would add much more to the game since it's Carrier and Multirole
Yellonet Posted November 29, 2005 Author Posted November 29, 2005 Yep me! F/A-18 would add much more to the game since it's Carrier and MultiroleI know that, but the focus of this sim seems to drift further and further away from carrier ops (no western carrier plane and no talk about updrading the Su-33). Not to mention that there are much more data available for the Falcon then there is for the Hornet. i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5
Maverick-90 Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Of course there's more available for the F-16, since the USAF tells you much more about their planes than the Navy does.. but since there have been sime F/A-18 sims it seems to be possible to add one ;)

Whisper Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Still dunno why they allow jane's to do that  They confused Jane's, the books, and Jane's, the progammers, perhaps? ;) Whisper of old OFP & C6 forums, now Kalbuth.
