Howdy,

I've discovered the brilliant LWin+ numpad keys to chagne the views around the cockpit.

I have a trackIR but its still useful, especially LWin+ Num 5 for looking straight down the HUD view to get a nice accurate aim going.

But when using this view it won't let me fire any of the weapons - I'm guessing because I'm holding too many keys or something like that? Or maybe the game is reading the Lwin+num5 as a modifier for the trigger on my hotas?

Can anyone think of a way around this? Cause it would be fantastic to be able to have for example the pinky leaver on the warthog hotas to toggle between normal trackir and direct hud view. So that way I wouldnt have to fiddle with zooming in and keeping my head steady etc, then zooming back out etc - it would be a simple 1 button press.:joystick:

.. I just realised that it may work if I set the fire button to Lwin + Num 5 + hotas trigger. I'm at work for the next 8 hrs though!

ok answered my question :P

yes using Lwin key as the modifier to the 1st and 2nd stage triggers as well as the weapons release will infact allow you aim with the Lwin+ num5 keys and shoot :)

Now i'll just configure xpadder to toggle the Lwin+num5 instead of holding it down.

The key command you want to use is Cockpit Panel View Toggle. Map this command (to say LCTL NUM0). Now pressing the key combo acts as a latch/switch for the snap views so that one press/release of the snap view key retains the snap view. Press another snap view key to change the view or LCTL NUM0 to release the latch.

Using this command I was able to program on my HOTAS Cougar an automatic view change to a zoomed HUD while pressing the trigger first stage. Very handy for gunning those little infantryman buggers.

I can't seem to make this work...

When I press the latch snapview0 key (for me it's RCTL+KP0) and release it, the snapview 0 is displayed and the viewpoint stays fixed (as advertised).

But if I press and release (or press and hold, same outcome) another snapview key (for example KP9 wich shows the right MFD on my config) it displays the snapview 9 (as per the example) and either goes straight back to the default view (press and release), or keeps snapview 9 until I release the key (press and hold).

What did I do wrong ?

Not sure, but perhaps you need to make these changes to your config\View\View.lua file?

DisableSnapViewsSaving = false

UseDefaultSnapViews = false
