Xerxes17 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Certain weapons like rocket pods and especially cluster weapons causes my FPS to choke every time. Is there a certain setting that needs to be turned down for this effect to be lessened?
Xerxes17 Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 I've found that removing ground, ground1 and ground2 from the medium and high folders in \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Effects\PFX will eliminate the problem. Removing low seems to have little effect.
mmtaraval Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 That helped me and I don't miss the FX, thanks Xerxes17 i7-4790k stock 4.4 / gtx 980ti / 16gb ram / 256gb ssd (os) / 256gb ssd for apps / Acer XB27OHU 27" g-sync

Xerxes17 Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 I'd say that it removes some effects from when something like a bomb or an aircraft interacts with the ground. Since by definition we have other effects playing at the same time you won't really miss much. I've noticed less black smoke when rounds are hitting the ground, but it's really not a major thing. Just make a folder within these folders, drag and drop the noted files into it and give it a test by putting a CAS aircraft with some rockets into the editor and giving it a quick fly. That's how I tested it.
Prophet Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 IIRC back in the day looking into this, and the problem is just how often that particular animation gets played with gun fire, rockets, cluster bombs. I could live without the animations if it meant I didn't pause.
WildBillKelsoe Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 actually I wish ED can get the gun animation from 1.1.1.1 back to world... world animation looks like a cross between star wars and enemy at the gates... well, to me at least... AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors.
